The Green King, Borovets

Had one of our best meals here. Peter is so kind and creates a lovely homely atmosphere. He explains everything and is clearly passionate about what is served. Food is excellent.
Kitchen accidentally sent out wrong side and Peter immediately sorted and gave another extra portion of potato’s to make up (soo delicious). Would absolutely recommend.

Fantastic Homely Restaurant! Peter is a character of Borovets for the Ages! The food from Vegetarian to Blood Meat was fantastic. 6 people all ain't different and we're so happy. The explanation of each dish was excellent by Peter. The jokes are worthy of classic BBC TV comedy. We will definitely eat here again.

Oh boy, do I have a hilarious 5-star review for the Green King Restaurant in Borovets, Bulgaria!

Let me start by saying that I've eaten at a lot of restaurants in my life, but the Green King takes the cake (or should I say, the kebab) for being the funniest dining experience ever.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly server who looked like he could bench press a mountain. He was wearing a green tunic and a crown, which I guess makes him the "Green King" - but don't worry, he didn't try to make us kneel before him.

Now, let's talk about the food. We ordered the mixed grill platter, and when it arrived at our table, we were blown away by the sheer amount of meat on it. I'm pretty sure they slaughtered an entire herd of cows and chickens just for us. And the taste? Incredible. I could taste the Bulgarian mountains in every bite.

But here's the best part: halfway through our meal, a man dressed in a giant green vegetable costume came out of the kitchen and started dancing around our table. I have no idea what he was supposed to be - a broccoli? A cucumber? - but he was definitely the life of the party. We couldn't stop laughing.

Overall, the Green King Restaurant is a must-visit if you're in Borovets. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the entertainment is top-notch. Just be prepared to see some vegetables come to life!

First decent restaurant encountered in Borovets. Cozy, family friendly place with authentic, homemade, delicious food. Friendly service and the owner went out of his way to make our meal delightful and even gave us sightseeing advice. We immediately booked to come back tonight.

A nice place to grab a bite on the main street in Borovets. Homemade food, delicious and large servings. The owner was also super friendly and gave us good recommendations, even though we ordered the whole menu. Highly recommended!

We stayed in Borovets for 3 days. On the first day we walked around the whole town looking for somewhere to eat. There were a lot of annoying people outside restaurants trying to get custom. Green King was so unassuming and there was no one annoying outside so we went in… the rest is history!!! Incredible hearty Bulgarian food.

What a gem in Borovets! The hospitality from Peter and Eva cannot be beat & every meal we sampled here visiting 3 days in a row was delicious. Highly recommend for the hearty meals, amazing service and true taste of Bulgaria!

This cozy place offers hands down the most delicious food in Borovets. The owner is kind, helpful and accommodating, plus he gives great suggestions and if you listen to him, you will not regret it. After some nights of loud live music and average tasting pricey food, we finally found a place where one can taste homemade meals and leave satisfied. The picture of the kavarma says it all
