Grand Hotel “Velingrad”

Excellent location, abundant thermal water and many pools. Staff is super friendly, the food is local and tasty, good choice of wines. Good entertainment.

It is a great place, wonderful location. The room was massive and ideal for us. A selection of swimming pools. The food was excellent with a great choice of dishes. Massive thank you to Kalin from the fitness place who helped me with the equipment. Massive thank you to one of the cleaning ladies, around 30 with glasses, who unblocked my shower. A big gratitude to the cake and pastry lady that prepared a birthday cake for my daughter. I would love to come back again.

Top hotel. Going there for already 8+ years. Service is top and place is great including for going with kids. Great kitchen as well with local products

I was there with my team. Everything was great - the SPA, the room, the bed. All nice and tidy.
The only thing I didn't like, was the food. Its quality and quantity doesn't match to a 5-star hotel.

I like this place. A bit away from nearby buildings - excellent choice for getaway where I feel my relaxing needs being fully satisfied. Lots of choices for your stay. Price is lower than the quality offered.

Very good and relaxing hotel great service clean room and great food

Loved every minute of our stay! The SPA center is very good, they have several different-sized pools, steam rooms, hot outside pool and more! The food at the restaurant was good. There is also a gym and bowling alleys at the premises. Unfortunately, the piano bar was closes for maintenance; hopefully, we can enjoy it next time we are there.

Almost perfect. With small insignificant issues, but the staff was professional and we really enjoyed our staying. We enjoyed the food, service, the Spa, thermal zone and the massages. Quality and professional for very good price. If I am around, I will definitely use the same hotel. Thank you

I was there for a couple of nights during the week with my girlfriend. I can say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever been in. It absolutely deserves its 5 stars and for sure it deserves to be announced as the best spa hotel on the Balkans for 2019. The room we stayed in was big with a king bed and terrace with an amazing view. It was really clean and the bathroom was huge with a big bath tub as well. However, the spa centre was the thing that amazed us. There is a huge spa centre and we didn’t mind to spend all day there. All of the pools have mineral water and the temperature was great. There is outdoor pool with hot mineral water as well where we spent half of the day in. You just can’t get enough! The restaurant is also great. We had dinner and breakfasts there. The food is really fresh and delicious and they have a lot of food options for any taste. There is a nice atmosphere and the staff is really nice and friendly. We would definitely go back there again for another vacation! The pictures below are from one of our breakfasts and dinners.

We have a splendid time each time we visit Grand Hotel Velingrad. The level of service, accommodations and comfort is unmatched. This heavenly place comes with a high recommendation from me!

Very nice hotel. The SPA is great! It has couple of pools - a small one for kids, two for adults one is outside and the other is inside the SPA area. There is also therapeutic one which temperature is around 39-40 degrees (in Celsius) and could be used even during the winter season. Not to mention the delicious food and the bar - in one word the hotel is awesome!

The hotel has a beautiful location on the top of the hill overlooking the city. Easy to get to, 5 minutes to city centre by car, maybe 15 on foot. There are both outdoor and indoor pools, which are basically clean and warm. If you are a SPA fan, it's definitely your place. I'd say this is more a family oriented hotel, there isn't much to do at night. There is a piano bar but it seems to be working at weekends. Food was good and various at breakfast, pizza at the pool was tasty too. There are numerous opportunities to dine outside the hotel, if you're into something more local and less starry 🙂.

Our 4th visit in last 18months and stil the hotel keeps its quality. Rooms and actually everything clean and spacious. Now they have renovated pool and sauna area. Still working on wellness part. Food also improved a bit ( was never terrible though) and last night dinner was served as bufet so well done ( a la carte still available). So I would say 5* is justified fully now.

Visiting almost every year for about a decade now, sometimes twice a year. Not perfect, but one of the best in the country hands down. Newer hotels have smaller rooms while Grand has been build during best times in communism and it shows. Swimming pools are also huge for local country standards and water is flat out excellent though the later is somewhat common for the town.
Keeping up is hard and costly for a building this size, but they clearly make efforts.
Views are fantastic and personnel is friendly.
Restaurant is also high quality though one can also get fantastic food down the road at half the price.
It is simply an upscale outfit.
No much in-hotel entertainment for children, but basics are covered with a children's corner with adult supervision. A few years back saw animators for older kids, this year there weren't, but we didn't need any so it was ok.
The large indoor swimming pool was virtually empty 1 hour before closing time even at Saturday night which was fantastic if you wanted to do laps.
Once in past years they had a thematic night party around outside pool and it was noisy for everyone until 11pm...That is about the worst I can remember about this place.
Not cheap and not targeted towards your entertainment, but about the best in pools, location, accommodation and active relaxation departments.

On the background of the country's level of service this is a truly 5 star hotel. People are friendly, food is good, spa and pool are ok. Small issue with finding change for a 50.
Great price to quality ratio IMO.

Excellent hotel! Delicious food, very good musicians in the restaurant and a lot of fun for the children like bowling, table soccer, kids area next to the restaurant and others.
