Park Abbey

Exquisite with a history of 900 years, there are many rich historical and cultural heritage, including holy paintings, documents and holy relics, which are very inspiring to understand the history of Christianity and the truth of the Bible. The tour guide is very friendly and answers questions. The ceiling relief The Last Supper is one of a kind, art and faith lovers, worth seeing!

This place is just beautiful. You are positively bathed in history and serenity. Beautiful lakes to walk around and a nice brasserie to douse your thirst afterwards. The Number 4 bus, which goes almost directly from the gate, will take you back up into Leuven for those that need it.

Calm refreshing in a unique natural environment. Perfect for walks, jogging, picnic. The reeds can actually block the building's view which makes tricky sometimes to take a picture of the monument.

If you ever come to Leuven, this place is a must visit. Definitely the highlight of my travel to Leuven. Really beautiful place mixed with a lot of history, art and nature. Also, I recommend you go into the museum, besides learning about the daily lives of monks there are insane artworks carved into the ceilings of the monastery.

A nice walk around the lakes and then the Xmas Market

Love walking around this lovely park with the lakes. Every season has its beauty!

The museum is small but very well organized. The audio guides are a must. In the library, one should lay down on the sofas to see the works of art in the ceiling being lit up, as the audio guide takes us through some religious history facts.

The bells toll at every hour, apparently, and it was marvelous to listen to them while walking around.

This park is a must if you come to Leuven, you can visit it for free!! The monastery was settled in the century 18th and was the center of the economy of this area back in those days. Based on agriculture and husbandry. Now a days, it's still working and the surroundings areas of the buildings are open to visitors. There's a restaurant and a shop, both temporary closed due to Covid-19.
The inner side on the main building faces 3 ponds, that is thel home of some fauna such as swans (white and black), wild ducks among other birds. It's easy to see them in the ponds... The sight is more than beautiful! For that reason, you must be aware that it's not allowed to walk your dog, ride your bicycle or make a big noise that can disturb the animals. Remember being always respectful
What to do there? It's perfect for a walk, a relaxing afternoon of picnic with your friends or simply to admire the wonderful architecture.

Very beautiful and pretty place, much larger than expected. The buildings here range from the 17th century to the 20th century with parts of the buildings built in different times. There's the buildings themselves, a small botanical garden and a small cemetery. Very much worth a visit, recommended!

Really nice place for some little walks by the side of cute little lakes populated by numerous bird species.
