Bikrampuri Buddhist Bihar Museum of Antiquities, Munshiganj

The monastey is located in Raghurampur village of
Munshiganj district. It is considered one of most
important archaeological sites in Bangladesh and is
believed to have been built in the late 8th-9th century
AD. It is one of the 30 viharas built by Emperor
Dharmapala during his regime. It is connected to Atish
Dipankar. The vihara was rediscovered in 2013 after
four years of excavation conducted jointly by the
Agrasar Vikrampur Foundation and the Archaeology
Department of Jahangirnagar University. The Ministry
of Cultural Affairs financed the excavation.

Bikrampuri Buddhist Bihar is situated at Raghurampur, Munshiganj. Its one of the main archeological sites of the recent expedition on this place. This whole place was build during Pal Dynasty as temples for Buddhists for daily prayers. While expediting found a lot of things such as coins, daily utensils, sculptures of God/Goddess from the temples are currently move to National Museum and is up for display.
Place looks very peaceful, which might be the reason why Buddhists chose this place. When I visited it was very less crowded. Please do not throw wastes in this place, they keep it very clean and we should not disturb it. This place is open for everyone so we should be respectful while visiting.

Good place to spend some time and wonder about the charismatic ages of this buddhist bihar. You will find yourself recharged if you are into historical stuff.

Ancient Buddhist temple at "Roghurampur" of 'Sukhbashpur'. This is assumed as a part of a big temple in that area. The place is well managed and made tourist friendly. It is good for all groups. They planted many uncommon medicinal plants. That's an additional opportunity to learn about trees.

Bouddha Bikrompur Bihar is buried under soil at Rampal union parishad of Raghurampur Village in Munshiganj District, one of the most ancient Buddhist Bihar (about 1000 years old). This Bihar is thought to have been erected in the late eighth and ninth centuries AD. It was discovered during excavation in recent years. Bihar is a location that serves as a Residential Higher Education Center.
