This college was established in 1945 as a non-govt college. Then it was nationalized in 1980. There are six building and one female hostel in this college. At present there are about twenty thousand students here. Students are taught here from HSC to Master’s level including degree (pass) and B.A Honours. Honours and Master’s courses exist in fourteen subjects.
