Radimlja Necropolis

A medieval B&H necropolis with over 100 tombstones. Some are decorated and represent the status of those buried there. Place is clean well maintained with a guide available to readily answer questions and help touring the place. Easy to access, with a parking available nearby. Cordially recommended.

You can almost feel the spirits resting in the mystical valley. Burning rocks and scorching sun do their job well to help you feel the spirits.

Joke aside, it's one of the nicest necropolis spots I've been to. Authentic medieval Bosnian tomb stones are really well preserved and you can see a lot of details and inscriptions. The place has a nice access and a dedicated parking lot so it is really easy to visit.

UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site since 2016. 63 tombstones, many decorated with well known motifs. One decorated with writings in bosančica.well worth the visit, as well as the Boljuni (around 10 km away). There is 4KM (2€) entrance fee.

One of the most remarkable history site in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is old neqropolis with unique grave stones locally called stecak.

On the main road from Stolac to Mostar you get to see a piece of Bosnian heritage, the entry price is 2e, this location is one of the best preserved so if you plan to visit Mostar this is only 30km away there is also a cycling track from this to another stećak location, with other things to see, so a visit for cyclists is even better

Nice little ancient graveyard. Small but nice and well preswnted. 2 euro per person open fron 7 till 19. The carvings o n the tombs are interesting and with the booklet nice to follow. Good site.

Radimlja is a stećak necropolis located near Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in Vidovo polje, 3 km west of Stolac, on the Čapljina-Stolac road. The Radimlja necropolis is one of the most valuable monuments of the medieval period in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is worth stopping and looking at the remains that testify to the history of this area. It is located along the main road

As an heritage site it was very unique, I had the opportunity to speak with an archeologist and he explained to me that this heritage site may be more old that even Egypt Pyramids, until now that had verified that some of the stoned are dating from third millennium BC but all the tests that they are doing now with the last technology it says that these places os older than that, 😯

Loved it. People from Stolac take good care of our Bosnian cultural heritage.

Awesome place near Mostar - Bosnia and Herzegovina

Amazing restored architecture, a taste of old Europe. Also, fresh fruit, coffee and a welcome road stop.

Ancient tombstones shrouded with mistery... must see if you are near Mostar or Stolac!!!

Nice, historical place

It is such a beauty , but pity is that place is split by main road which dated from Austro -Hungary period. They obviously didn't care about Bosnian culture heritage .
