UpCycles Yarra Valley

What a great initiative this is! I took my old bicycle (now used exclusively for spinning) to Upcycles to see if the rusty old gear change mechanism could be made to work again. Unbelievably, I left Upcycles with a perfectly working spinning bike. Plus, I had a great time fixing it myself with expert guidance from Damo, the resident guru, including access to a huge range of bike maintenance tools and spares. After only a couple of hours, including a coffee or two, my bike has a new great change cable, new chain and a new cassette (the old one was well and truly past it) and is ready for another few thousand kms on my trainer. All of this at a very reasonable cost. I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon with like minded bike enthusiasts, and great chats in a really lovely environment (including wood fire in the corner). If you want to learn how to maintain or fix your bike, save some money, and have a great time doing it, then I can thoroughly recommend Upcycles.

Upcycles is a great space to purchase an upcycled bike (decreasing landfill yay), learn about bike maintenance through upcycling, or working on your own bike. All under the guidance of Damo who is a friendly and knowledgeable bicycle mechanic and also makes an excellent coffee.
