Wonderfully place birds and more birds need a good camera tortoise walking so good. Places to camp, toilets, barbeques a great place well looked after, A small entrance fee. Would be a good place for the kids to explore but not in thongs might see a snake or too so be aware of the surroundings.

Visited late February 2024 and there is no water. Very dry but also very beautiful. We enjoyed our short time there. Book and pay online, has walking trails and flushing toilets. Will be back for a visit in spring.

Loads of room for camp setups. Two toilets per gender. Very peaceful! We had the camp area to ourselves. Just $22/n for 6 of us. Slight hiccup when booking - we found getting a car pass first and then doing a second transaction for camping worked (all other ways ended with unavailable - which we thought meant fully booked but it wasn't obviously). Not much water when we were there but there were still birds around. Great spot to recharge the travelling bug!

I have never seen such a large wetland in Australia except tropical north in QLD. Beautiful in sunny afternoon.

Was here in May 2017. When we drove in (admit late in the day) I could not believe the untold amount of birds on the lagoon all the way around the drive to the north. I got out to take photos of a northern lagoon and snapped a photo of thousands of waterbirds taking off. When we drove back, we spied a wallaby right beside the road that did not mind us stopping for a photo (from inside the car). Amazingly, on the drive back hardly a waterbird was left. It was if we happened to pick the time of day they all left for the night. I can imagine someone arriving then and thinking, 'Where are all the birds?" When back in that area we will make sure we get there around mid-day. The sun was too low for us for good photos. Would be magic to camp there (which you can).

Not much water in there atm and where the birds are was a fair distance away. Would be great when there is more water.

Nice short 1km walk to the bird watching area. Board walk could do with some maintenance

Quite interesting. A board walk, a bird hide, a nice looking camping ground.

This is probably a great place in season and the picnic & camping infrastructure looks great. We however made the mistake to visit after a long, dry spell at the end of summer -- and then there is really very little to see of this wonderful swamp area.

No water or water birds. A bit concerning as this is spring after a wet winter. It looks like it has been dry for quite a long time.
