Clements Gap is a pass trough the Barunga ranges towards Merriton, also a small settlement of the same name, still populated.
Clements Gap CP is the best example of remnant mallee in the Mid North and a rare protection area on flat land.
There are tracks through the park, I would say soft sand ready 4WD only.
Free, time limited campsites were available near the Solders Memorial church and the old school site when we were there. No facilities just some tables and benches under shade.
Not too exciting compared to the coast or the Lower Flinders ranges but quite unique. If we travel to or through the area in spring, we will stop there again to see the wildflowers.
