Clement's Gap Old School

Absolutely a must visit! Thank you to the local community for this amazing camp area and conservation park. It was quirky and extra special. Highly recommended.

Great little free camp as well as an historic walk back in time. Place was an American Army Base during the second world war. Walk far enough and you find all the old ruins with plaques signifying what each ruin once was. People back in the day testify that there is a great cache of armaments and vehicles buried here. Could be true!

Large open areas, easy access for big rigs.
Very quiet. Must be fully sef contained, no amenities at all.

A lovely walk through what used to be a thriving community. Lots of signs to give you an idea of what it must have been like to go to school here. The US army had a base here in 1942 which must be the reason for the "Golf course" 2 kms up the road. I would have loved to have been able to see inside the church. Gone are the days when churches used to be kept open for the community.

Great little spot to camp, nice and quiet. Walking through the bush you learn about the history of the area there. No amenities there to use but we parked our RV in a great spot a new sat outside enjoying the peace and quiet of the bushland.

Very interesting story to read about the school and also the Soldier uniting church. There is also a free parking where you are allowed to stay over night, quite like a bushcamp but more interesting. In 1942 the US army had an ammo deposit of several thousand tons here, also with bombs. By the picnic table there was a memorial about an accident where a whole family were killed. Looks like a hidden pearl, only me and a caravan was there.

What an amazing camp with an amazing history. Little sculptures galore with nearly every camp sight with its own little theme obviously based on its own historic event.
Loved it!!!.❤Oh and please read all the signs before entering. There is no burning of the native vegetation, no dogs or cats and fires are prohibited.

Cool spot, great freecamp, no amenities, water. Lots of space, big rigs watch your height, easy with a bus.
