Secret Beach

Bright's secret beach, as secluded as it is picturesque. A short meander off racecourse road, a great place for a picnic and a swim on this bend in the Ovens River, or even try your skills fly fishing in the moderately moving flow as you will almost always find logjams or sunken logs hiding several species of native fish or the introduced brown and rainbow trout. The only time you'll see people is when they float past on a canoe, raft or lilo on their way to the main Ovens River swimming pools, waterslide and diving board in Apex Park. The beach is the place where the infamous boriental fried rice incident occurred many moons ago. Just be warned their have been times when this beautiful area has been infested with large spiders living in amongst the weathered river rocks that form the beach. Just don't flip rocks over and you should be pretty right though, and if you visit in the cooler months and insist on having a camp fire here, have it in the already fire scarred areas that people have used before, and be sure to extinguish your fire completely with river water before you leave. Leave this beautiful place as you found it, take all your rubbish with you.
