Picnic Society

As a group of 6 BVRT riders arriving at 145pm on a Sunday afternoon we could not have been welcomed more warmly . We had a tough ride into Toogoolawah due to a July westerly and were so thankful for our late scrumptious lunch and drinks . Thanks for being open 🌟. A must stop if you are on the BVRT 🚴‍♀🌟

Carolyn and Steve are some of the nicest, most hospitable people you’ll ever meet, and the food is phenomenal.

Their home-made strawberry is to die for and as soft as a pillow.

Great service and brilliant artisan food, highly recommend.

Wonderful cafe, excellent food, coffee and ambiance. Superb friendly service. I especially enjoyed the Vanilla yoghurt with granola and fresh berries for breakfast.

We stopped here for brekky while biking the BVRT. What a luxury it was! The food was amazing - freshly made croissants, lemon infused oil in the avocado, everything freshly made onsite. And the coffee .... wow! Best cappuccino I've ever had - and I've had a lot! The owner was very helpful and accommodating. Can't recommend this place enough. Be sure to stop in for some much needed tasty fuel ❤

First visit to this lovely Cafe today, got best table on the window and enjoyed friendly service, delish hot coffee and carrot cake, my hubby had Pear and walnut cake...they were busy but we didn't have to wait long and was worth the wait anyway...such a pleasant place for a weekend breakfast, morning tea or lunch. You won't be disappointed.

Great ambience and customer service. Proper country size meals, struggled to finish and very delicious. Looking forward to the fresh sponge later today.

Had the most delicious Carrot Cake and Banana Custard Danish. And the staff were absolutely wonderful.

My go to place for a delicious breakfast, picnic box or sweet treat. Lovely food, great service. Highly recommend.

Who knew?! I adore pretty, quiet little Queensland towns and Toogoolawah sure is pretty (and quiet)! Fernvale used to be our must-stop town when in the Somerset region for a drive, and now it's Toogoolawah because oh my goodness - the Picnic Society in Toogoolawah's main street! Very chic aesthetic, kind of French retro (while I love the Fernvale bakery pies, you can't say much for the ambience!), and the most unexpectedly delectable menu of coffee and coffee accompaniments - cakes, shakes, quiches, old-favourite jams and chutneys, hand-made biscotti - and every one tasting country-fresh. There's an amazing barista behind the coffee machine, and owner Carolyn could not be more gracious and welcoming. And if there's a crowd and a little wait, there's plenty of pretty to look at amongst the French woven picnic baskets and hand-made picnic furnishings. It's the most delightful place to pause and refresh before you continue on to the next little town - but I'm not sure any of them now can match Toogoolawah for taste!

We ordered a gourmet sandwich box for 2 for lunch while riding the BVRT and we loved it! Great variety and plenty of delicious food!

I can't say enough about the incredible catering service provided by the Picnic Society for our recent workshops. The variety of options they offered was impressive, accommodating diverse tastes and dietary preferences. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were evident in every bite. We couldn't have been happier with the outcome.

We will undoubtedly be returning for their culinary expertise in the future. Thank you!

Look at this amazing platter for 4 we had at the 'Picnic Society' in Toogoolawah! Definitely worth turning off the highway for the food and hospitality. What a great idea - a picnic indoors! The Savoury Blueberry Relish was amazing, so I purchased this and the Bread and Butter Pickles to take home to Melbourne. My family devoured the entire jar of pickles at the family BBQ on the weekend, they are delicious! I wish I had bought more... :(
Next time I am ordering ahead and we will go exploring with a Picnic Society picnic box.
Can't believe we found this place off the beaten track... do yourself a favour and visit Carolyn, Steve and the team... you will not regret it!

Exceptionally friendly service and delicious food, plus great coffee. This is what I needed at the end of “day two” Bikepacking from the Sunshine Coast. Had the amazing home made meatloaf toasty with a deep richly balanced double espresso. In all seriousness, this was one of the best toasties I’ve ever had. We’ll worth the 140k ride from the Sunshine Coast haha, will come again

Oh my stars, what a fabulous little gem in the main street of Toogoolawah!, the pastries and cheesecake were to die for!, and baked on the premises:) Wow, we will be back for sure. Great vibe, excellent service and the variety of locally made products to purchase in the shop was amazing.

What a find!!! If you are in the Brisbane Valley head to Toogoolawah and you will find right in the middle of the town a unique store. The Picnic Society is all about making your outdoor eating experience a picnic to remember. They have relishes, chutney, picnic tea, gourmet jams and more. They also have picnic blankets, baskets and brilliant food covers to stop those pesky flies. It is also a cafe with tea, coffee, AMAZING cupcakes (the family had a fight about who ate the last one without sharing) and other yummy stuff. If you want to picnic around Toogoolawah or anywhere else in the Brisbane Valley order a picnic box to enjoy - make sure you have your camera ready for an insta worthy picnic picture - so worth a day trip to Toogoolawah and the Brisbane Valley - easy drive from Brisbane or Toowoomba (would love to have uploaded more pictures but the food was eaten before I remember to get my phone out !!!

DELICIOUS food made with love. I booked the Picnic Society to cater for a workshop I was running in Somerset and the food was absolutely amazing! The danishes that arrived for morning tea were still warm from the oven and all participants rated the food as "100% excellent" on my feedback forms. I would highly recommend the Picnic Society for your next event if you want delicious homemade food presented in the most beautiful way. A+++

This breakfast/lunch boutique is a little hidden gem on Toogoolawah. Amazing food, service is above and beyond and their picnic range is all homemade. Cakes and pastries made fresh every weekend.

Had a lovely gluten free cake with a tasty latte, just so yummy! Picnic Society has such a wonderful ambience, plus so welcoming. Can highly recommend 😃
