Don't miss this beautiful rainforest & fern walking experience, whilst here in NE Tasmania. I drove from Weldborough to get here.
It's a 2-way, single lane bush road in, with easy parking.

Walking track only, no bikes. It's easily accessible & sign posted.
I thought it was an easy walk in & out. Just know it's downhill there, uphill back, with a few ducks under low branches.
Wow, the widest giant tree recorded at the end of the track is spectacular.
Thank you to the local community who have ensured this fern & Blue Teir Big Tree sanctuary will live on forever 💙.

Absolutely loved it! The giant tree from the pictures is at the end of the track. The way leads you through the amazing Tasmanian forest with. The starting point is directly on the marker in Google Maps. There is a longer and a shorter track to the biggest tree, we took the shorter track and it took us a about 1h including the return. The track splits about 15min into the walk (see my images), the right track is the shorter one. There might be trees fallen onto the way, just walk around them.

There are lots of places to see giant trees in Tassie, this is perhaps one of the most underrated, with possibly my favourite of Tassies big trees. This area is far less popular than areas like Mt field and the Stix valley and thus has a more remote feel to it. The track to the giant takes to past many beautiful big trees and some of the biggest tree ferns to be seen. It really is a beautiful walk and well worth doing if you get the chance.

Blue Tier big tree loop.
Spectacular best walk I have ever done.
Feels so ancient. Fel you have stepped back a few hundred years.
Take the walk slow stop and look around.
The falls were beautiful. The while experience will always stay with me.
Also did Goblin walk not to faraway, worth the drive for the 10 minutes easy walk. The moss lined paths and little streams beautiful.

Did a short 1200m long walk, ran into a snake. Turned around as fast as possible. Absolutely beautiful.

Will be back to explore this more, didnt see much as the as the light was fading for us. The road in is a little rough for our SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe). Lots of overhanging bran hes to scratch the car, rocks, and potholes.

An easy rewarding stroll through some lovely forest with massive manferns and gum trees, the largest flowering plants in the world! Allow two hours if you take your time and soak it all in.

Kind of a rough drive along anchor rd to get to the start of the walk but definitely worth it. Beautiful scenery throughout the whole walk and path is well marked out, just watch out for leaches.

Astonishing old old forest. Come here to see trees and ferns that are unlike anything else in the world.

I love these big trees. Each one has many scars from a long life, but that only makes them more magnificent, inspiring, and very peaceful. The giant fern trees are not quite as impressive as the huge swamp gums, but add to the special feeling of walking through this ancient, uncut forest.

The turnoff from the main road is well sign-posted, but some visitors may be concerned about driving several kilometres down such a narrow gravel road. In some places bushes and young trees are growing so close that they touched both sides of our vehicle. The road base, however, is good, so there is no danger of being bogged.
