Number 49 of Tasmania’s 60 Great Short Walks. 30min return + time spent at falls. 1km return, grade 2. Very beautiful & peaceful walk. Keep in mind no toilet facilities here.
This is one of the states highest falls at 90m. On average, 42,000 litres of water flowing per minute which increases to over 220,000 litres per minute in winter! These falls have never been known to run dry!

Awesome view of the 90 meter falls. There is a short walk around 10 minutes one way to get to the bottom where you pass lovely fern glades by the stream you cross over. The little hut entrance to the walk down has information plaques on both sides.

Incredible waterfall. You can get directly to the waterfall by walking the way from the "St Columba Falls Carpark". Is is a very easy short track of about 10min. Since this fall is easier to access there are a bit more people walking abound. However it is one of the biggest in Tasmania. Defiantly a must see!

Gorgeous falls! A steep but easy hike down to the falls but absolutely worth it. My husband and I went late in the day and the sun was sitting just at the top of the falls, making photos very difficult. I’d recommend going in the morning to get better photos. There’s a viewing platform at the bottom of the falls so you do not get wet.

Amazing spot if you’re willing to drive the distance - keeping in mind it’s a very scenic drive. About 45 minutes or so from St Helens, although we drove from Launceston which was about 2 hours. A magnificent view of the waterfall can be seen from the path close to the car park, and the viewing platform from the bottom of the waterfall looking up. We went at 7pm and no one else was there, perfect time of day ☀

Surely the most beautiful walk in Tasmania to a spectacular waterfall. Mother Nature at her best. The walk is easily accessible and has a gentle gradient. A low level of fitness is fine and it is a 25-30min walk. I took 1.5hrs because I couldn't stop taking photographs!

Waterfall chasing is fun, particularly when it's bucketting down with rain. I attended this waterfall after a week of rainfall; in fact, it was raining the very day I was at the waterfall.

The walk to the waterfall is easy. Slight slope down about 1-2km of well-maintained paths that wind through Tasmania's gorgeous forests. The riverside / streams are picturesque and the plant life is lush.

The waterfall itself is absolutely breath taking. Words cannot describe the absolute majesty of standing beside it while the white waters are raging. You just FEEL the rumble of the power in your torso. Haha. It was probably one of the most powerful waterfalls I've seen in the State of Tasmania.

All I can say is - if you're in Tassie's top East end and you like waterfalls, just go to this place. You will NOT regret it.

Best waterfall so far in Tasmania. Very easy to get too, sealed road. Easy walk down to the viewing platform. Excellent waterfall. Big drop. Lots of water (32,000-200,000 l/min) , great bit of rainforest on the way down. There is a pub and cheese shop about 4 minutes away as well. Worth the detour too or from St Helens.

Owner of Anchor Wheel Motel strongly recommended this place and now we understand why. The walk towards the falls is really enchanting (check out the videos) and we can see Wallabies hopping by. We saw alot of waterfalls in Iceland but this is special. A must visit place we feel just that the drive up can be abit treacherous. There are public toilets nearby.

A little hidden gem. We only did this because we'd heard of Pub in the Paddock, but as cool as the pub was, this was better! Beautiful rainforest and waterfall walk. One of the best things we saw in Tasmania. Do this, then head to Pub in the Paddock for lunch.

Definitely worth a stop in on your travels, although i found the rainforest walk was more beautiful and rewarding than the falls! There is a gravel path that’s easy to walk however moderate grade on the way back up for small people or frail.

It is part of the St Columba Falls State Reserve, featuring a picnic and toilet facilities, with somewhat limited parking along the road. The falls have more than 90m, one of Tasmania's highest. The walk to the base of the falls is definitely a highlight.

Amazing falls, very easy to get to from the car park. Roads getting there are winding, but great scenery

One of the Parks Tasmania 60 Walks, Walk 49 'For those who delight in falling water, this track leads to the base of one of Tasmania’s highest falls. The walk is on a high-quality track through cool and shady
rainforest. 20-30 minute return (600m one way)'

Surfaced road to the car park, places back up the road to relax after the walk. Big drop waterfall. Set in tree fern forest. Out of the way place.

Quick easy hike with a great payoff! Estimated time for the hike beginning to end is ~30 min. We made it to the falls in 5 min walking briskly (95% is down hill) from the starting hut. We enjoyed the amazing view and took pics for about 10 min then headed back. It took us about 10 min to jog back to the car (it is 95% uphill on the way back).
