The Medical Practice - Dungog

The medical practice itself is excellent. But Dr Sykes is well below standard, doesnt listen nor seem to care. Every question you ask him he replies.."i dont know".. Dr Chastin is excellent though, its just Dr Sykes. Had 8 medical prof tell me to get a new GP in 2wks..

Have only had wonderful experiences here with my children and myself. The doctors/nurses/front staff have always been amazing to us in every way, more than will to help. Friendly and understanding staff. Thank you

Zero professionalism. Doctors here treat mental health like a literal joke. I have had my problems laughed at, drugs thrown at me to "see what sticks" without so much as a referral for a basic blood test or psychologist who actually knows what they're doing. Despite my constant complaints of insomnia, the doctors here are more interested in prescribing you something dangerous like numerous anti-psychotics for sleep, rather than something innocuous like melatonin, which my new GP in Newcastle prescribed me which worked wonders without ruining my mental health further. Despite this being the closest practice to me, I no longer attend appointments here and go over an hour to Newcastle for a an actual medical professional instead.

If you need help applying a bandaid to a papercut, these guys could probably help out. If you have mental health issues, or really any problem that needs to be taken seriously, go elsewhere. Absolute joke of a practice. The unprofessionalism here is insane.
