Settlers Arms

We didn't stay at the Settlers Arms, merely visited their restaurant for dinner. Courteus staff. Great food and good atmosphere. I would especially recommend their vegetarian burger. One of the very good ones we have had. Portion size is good too. Would love to visit again, just for the burger and hope to try other options on the menu the next time.

We arrived on our scooters after many hours in the saddle and despite a booking glitch online the owner couldn’t be more helpful. Fantastic food, patrons were warm and welcoming to a couple of out of towners. Will definitely be talking about this place until we return. The staff are a credit to the management. I will wear my Settlers Arms shirt with pride.

We stayed as a group after arriving on the XPT.......easy walk from Station and after a pub crawl and look at shops we had dinner and drinks at the Settlers. We booked out nearly all the rooms and enjoyed before and after dinner balcony drinks.
Hannah and all the staff are fabulous and we were made welcome. Meal was lovely.
We all retired to our rooms and after the local boys around the bar sang a few songs, (sopranos they are not!) the noise subsided and we all slept well.
Breaky on the balcony then we ventured back to the train...... All had a great visit......and will return......many thanks Settler's !!

Lovely old pub, nice rooms, good vibe. A very good selection of craft beers on tap. Did a pub crawl of Dungog and this was the best. Can't fault accom tho fairly basic, tidy, good bed, etc, these old pubs need to be supported and are just lovely to stay at.

We stayed in the ensuite and it was great and reasonably priced. Lovely owners and managers - they were all very relaxed and accommodating (our 2 yo daughter was dining too). Dinner was fantastic. The bar is great, nice open fires. Beaut setting for a nice evening in. We had a lovely night - thank you Settlers Arms

Great atmosphere, especially enjoyed the record player at the bar and table games. Food was delicious and it came out fairly quickly. Decent serves, reasonable value. Menu was small but everything we had was great. Friendy service behind the bar and a good selection of tap beers, wines and spirits and reasonable prices. Would definitely visit again.

Great good and service. Such friendly waitstaff and the new owners a top bloke. Good wine list and good. Really friendly and warm atmosphere.

I arrived quite late on a Saturday night but it was no problem at all to Craig & Stephanie, I enjoyed their delicious Fish & Chips (I'd already read the reviews and it was recommended) the best Chardonay (thanks Craig) the room was very comfortable and had the best nights sleep. The breakfast was also included in the rate and was delicious. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

What a warm welcome we had from Ryan Very good asset for the pub.Ryan explained every to us and even helped with our luggage.

Country pub, warm fire, great food cold beer and country hospitality love it will return

The Settlers Arms where I stayed last night was brilliant full stop from The Arrival through the bar and later the comfort of the room made me feel very much at home. Full credit to the staff we met including Sophie the manager and Allen a senior executive.

Can not give enough stars. We had dinner tonight. The food was incredible and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend

New owners who are lovely and very accomodating. Beautiful pub with good tap beers and nice comfortable rooms.

The mmeal was generous, & absolutely delicious. Steak perfect, was delighted to have found "fine dining" where I could take visiting friends. But.......it closed due to lack og local support. Hope it re-opens.

Accommodation in the three downstairs ensuite rooms with private lounge area was five star. Alan who signed us in was friendly and helpful. Dungog is a beautiful place to visit.

Outstanding dining and a great atmosphere. A nicely renovated traditional old pub with excellent service and a terrific range of beer, wine and spirits. 👌

The food is very nice & the staff are very helpful & friendly. The open fire in the front bar is cozy also, with a good selection of spirits & wines.

Friendly comfortable convenient and great service! A seat on the verandah in the morning sun was beautiful too! Look forward to our next stay!

Amazing food. Lovely service. Let our dog on the balcony with us and gave him a bowl of water : )
