Barrington Bar and Restaurant

Ate here twice during our New Year holiday, 2022/23, their busiest time of the year. We tried different cuisines each time. The food was cooked to perfection, tasty, delicious. We're returning in June 2023 and looking forward to more of their chef's dishes.

You have to consider taste, price, service before giving an accurate review. Based on this, and the fact we didn't find anything wrong with taste, price or service, we have to give 5 stars.

Dont be put off by the bad reviews.. this place was completely fine. Staff are lovely and the food was absolutely fine. I originally wasnt going to try because of other reviews but decided to anyway. Pleasently suprised. Drinks here were amazing also - cocktails were my fave, the blue long island was the best :)

Food was delicious. This place is definitely off the beaten track but would recommend visiting.

We had cocktails and dinners on two seperate nights at the restaurant, very disappointing..
Cocktails including a long island tea that tasted mostly like straight soft drink, dont know whats going on there..
Schnitzel overcooked, and then grilled with cheese just to make sure it was burnt. Burgers the next night, patties shrunk and overcooked, sent one back only to get it back raw in the middle. Hot chips very light in colour and still firm inside.
Ok.. is there a chef or cook in this kitchen or just someone that thinks they can cook??
Not coming back.

Service was fine. The food wasn’t.

First night - burnt chicken parmigiana - with soggy cauliflower and undercooked chips.

Second night - burger with a patty which was so overcooked it had the texture of leather - and the taste was not of this world. Undercooked chips. Complained - given another burger - raw. So raw we gave it to our dogs. The chips were better.

We were keen to have a party here and bring our friends as we love the location.

Three strikes - that’s out for me.

We waited over an hour for our food! The 18$!!! Kids chicken nuggets and chips were not only a tiny portion but the chips were also undercooked and therefore inedible. My veggie halloumi burger had NO halloumi at all, but burned cauliflower flower and a soggy veggie patty on a dry bun instead. The best meal was by far the dog food. Canceled our booking for the next night. At least we got a refund after complaining

Raw chicken. On 4 of 8 meals. Wrong dishes. Amazing waitress but unfortunately the food was awful quality.
