Fantastic experience regarding the formation of the airline we know as Qantas. Purchased the business class experience, which included museum entry, hanger tour, and light and sound show. Our tour expect was John, very passionate and knowledgeable about Qantas. There are other experiences available, which gives you access to other areas. You need a good level of fitness, as you are on your feet for most of the tour - but there are seats dotted around. If you are uneasy on heights you may need to sit the plan exploration a miss. But, overall this is a must. Cafe is available for lunch, and there is a souvenir shop, toilets. Plenty of parking area for your vehicle. Remember to be 10 minutes before your tour. Ground crew and flight crew a very welcoming and helpful.

This was absolutely awesome! Our 4 and 6yo loved it, and we probably loved it even more. The perfect amount of history packaged up in extraordinary imagery, special effects, and lights. What a treat!!!! Definitely go.

Surprisingly, this is a NFP and not linked to Qantas at all. So it's nice to know the money that we spend here gets used for here only.

Wow….just Wow!!!
This place is amazing!
Our guide Mark was so informative and he has such a passion for his job. He went over and above to make sure everyone was enjoying their time.
Then the evening session with young Matt was excellent also. Matt is such a lovely young man and a real character. He is def the right person for the job.
If you’re in Longreach do not miss this place.

The museum and tour are worth every cent. To be able to see the classic planes up close with an engaging, knowledgeable and friendly guide was a great experience. The Luminescent Longreach show was also a great experience and was far better than I had hoped. You can easily spend half a day here and soak up the story and history of Qantas.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with John who was very informative and provided some laughs along the way. Very interesting to learn so much about the planes that they have on site. We particularly loved being able to sit in the cockpit and to do the wing walk.
Only disappointment was we ran out of time to finish in the museum.
Also have some great memorabilia for purchase.

What a fantastic experience it was to visit here. I'd wanted to go since pre-Covid so I'm glad I finally made it! Amazing exhibits and a wonderful history of our national airline. The aircraft are kept in great condition and obviously looked after. Our guide, Alex, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Excellent coffee shop with good good food, and nice gift shop as well. All the staff I had interactions with were so friendly. Definitely worth coming out to Longreach to visit here.

The Qantas museum was awesome and it’s definitely worth paying the money to do the guided tour of the planes out the back. Hamish was our guide who was awesome and incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. We got to go into all of the planes and it was great to hear all about their history. We didn’t book in advance as it was off peak when we visited but apparently this is definitely a requirement during peak season.

I highly recommend a visit and tour of this museum. We started with a good, reasonably priced breakfast and then spent the next hour and a half with our guide, John. He has a wealth of knowledge, was able to answer all our questions, and was a pleasure during the tour. We took the 'premium economy' tour and over the next 90 minutes learned about the birth of Quantas airlines, looked at numerous planes that played a role in Australia 's aircraft industry, and walked through several of the larger ones. All in all a very good tour.

This has been on my to do list for over 10 years and the past few days we made the trip to come and visit the museum and what can we say, wow it was amazing we did the wing walk tour aswell as the full tour of the 747-200 with Alex and she was great very enthusiastic and well spoken she had a lot of knowledge. After a break in the afternoon we went to the Luminescent longreach show at 6:30 and it was spectacular! If you have been thinking about doing the QFOM I would definitely recommend it

Such a great way to learn about our aviation history. I recommend doing the wing walk and cockpit experience. You learn just that bit extra then the standard tour (which by itself was pretty awesome), and when will you get another chance to stand on the wing of a jumbo? Our guide, Bryce, is a walking encyclopaedia of aviation and made the tour very enjoyable for all. Lunch in the restaurant was delicious.

What an amazing place with some great history. Awesome museum with interactive flying games for all ages! We did the tour which we got to walk through some amazing planes and see some amazing machines 😁 great tour guide who knew her stuff. This place is a non profit place so head down and support a local place.

This a great museum, so much to see & the guided tour is a must. Granted being an aircraft nut does help 😁

Loved this place, did a premium tour, was fantastic. We had tour guide Bryce, his story telling made the tour what it was, only wished I did the bigger tour…. The only way to get into where the planes are is to do a tour, I think we’ll worth the extra cost. The only suggestion I have, is to print a book with detailed pictures of the aircraft under the hanger along with the story of each aircraft as per what Bryce told us, and this book only offered to those that did the tour! I’ll be back when I retire and become a grey nomad.

Loved it... did the Premium Tour, which took 1.5 hours... so allow 3 hours to have a good look around. JAMES did an outstanding job as a guide and knew his info. Just the history of the outback was an eye opener. Made a special flight to just go here... and worth it.

Great place to learn about the history of the aviation industry of Australia. Start up from scratch to the worldwide airline and become a national airline. Keep in mind that If you buy the premium economy tickets, it doesn't include the wing walk. Also allow yourself at the museum at least 1.30 hrs. before the airpark tour start.
PS. Book your ticket in advance as it quite busy during school holidays

We were here in 1997 & the museum has certainly grown since then. We had a wonderful tour lead by John, who was a very knowledgeable guide. Well worth the extra money & time doing the Airpark tour & the 747 Wing walk tour. We're so glad we returned to see it all, an excellent job preserving Australia's aviation history.

Visited in Sept 2023. We booked the Captain's Club experience which included the guided tour of displays & planes, the wing walk on the 707 & 747 and photos. We loved our experience on this tour. Our guide Hamish was passionate, knowledge and engaging. It's a group of up to 6 people. We lucked out and got a private tour. Just brilliant.

An absolutely amazing experience. I highly recommend you go.
NOT funded by Qantas at all. Non for profit. The money spent by us the tourist is what keeps this amazing adventure going. The indoor museum by day, plus you can purchase tickets for the guided tour by Drew. And the Luminescence show at night with Drew and Rory.

Visited Tuesday and was very impressed with the museum display. Paid a bit extra to walk through the aeroplanes and glad we did- really interesting. Lovely staff and excellent standard of facilities.
