Aalishan Indian Restaurant Townsville

Beautiful well air conditioned Indian restaurant with plenty of parking nearby .

Had the goat curry , the garlic cheese man and the vegetable curry which were all really well seasoned and delicious. What’s more impressive would be the lovely texture of the meats, not being tough.

Lovely place! Our favourite place in Townsville!

We had our first visit there last night. They have a wonderful variety of food on the menu(which is very hard to find). The place smelt of delicious food, and honestly, it tasted amazing

The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. We had a reservation and arrived early, were seated, and served very quickly. There was always a friendly face around and ready to help serve at a waves' notice and sometimes without even a wave.

My partner and I saw some milk drinks brought out and wanted to try this. We called a male server over who informed us that the 'butter milk' was a Indian specialty and suggested we try it in a tester first. It was definitely an acquired taste, but the service he provided was sensational! I've not had any other restaurant offer a taster in the chance we don't like it.

We had an entree and two main meals. (Chicken with indian spices (Entree as pictured) then for main: Butter chicken, boiled rice, chicken tikka masala & boiled rice and cheesey garlic Naan bread. They were delicious and filling. We even grabbed a takeaway container.

We are very fulfilled and happy customers who will be going back regularly. Thankyou to the amazing staff for such a wonderful experience!!

Aalishan is definitely my Indian restaurant of choice in Townsville - have enjoyed dining in and takeaway there many times and the food is always exceptional. Can't believe how delicious the food is for such reasonable prices. The staff are lovely, very friendly and always make me feel welcome. My boyfriend and I just went in for Valentines Day dinner and the whole restaurant was decorated for the occasion. There were even little valentines gifts on each table! Such a cute gesture and it really made us feel cared for. I would highly recommend Aalishan to anyone looking for an excellent meal and a great experience.

As it's been a few months since I wrote my review, I think it is time to write another one, just to emphasize how much we like Aalishan!
But today I want to say more than that their food is to die for; I want to mention the kindness and attention with which they treat their costumers, especially Sagar - the kind of person who will remember that 3 weeks before you mentioned that you had ordered something very nice for starter, but it was not what you really wanted to try... you got dishes mixes up. And the first thing he asks you when you go back is if he may order the dish you had mentioned you wanted to try, and he still knows what it is!
It is a very busy restaurant, but they make sure everyone gets the best attention!
I wish we lived at least 30 kilometres closer to town, because it hasn't been possible to go every week!!!
Yes, service can still be a bit slow when the place is full, but it is such a nice environment and wonderful food! And they really make you feel super welcomed!
We always have a great time!

The place itself is very pleasant: large rooms with nice furniture and good lighting.
Even though service is not brilliant, the staff are very friendly and kind.
And the food... the food is to die for!!!
I have never tried something I did not like.
Prawn masala is my favourite dish by far, but the chicken is also great (and the lamb and...)
We try to go at least once a week. I think I am getting addicted to their food!!!

Had a Sunday dinner at aalishan,probably it was the best Indian food ever I had.
Well managed neat and clean professional staff,well setup and a quality food are the main reason that made me give 5 star.
When we enter into the restaurant we were welcomed.
Food was quick and great flavour,obviously worth for what you pay.
I would like to thank chef all the kitchen and FOH staff for the wonderful food and service will be back for sure.
If you are around Townsville and looking for Indian flavour please visit the place you won’t regret.

Absolutely the best Indian restaurant we have been to. The service was excellent all round and Ryan was super efficient and helpful. Wine list great too and across the board wine and food were all well priced. We only had one night in Townsville and couldn't have chosen a better dining spot. Aalishan will be our go to whenever in Townsville.

We had a wonderful meal at this authentic Indian restaurant.
We love our Indian meals and what we experienced here was some of the best.
Delicious onion bhajis, curries with just the right amount of spice, light and fluffy rice, and tasty Naans.

If there’s 1 restaurant you eat at, it’s got to be here! The service was great, the food was amazing, and not a single one of us felt heavy/unwell after eating the food (which can happen with ethnic foods because we don’t eat it all the time). We ordered the Mixed platter for entree and for mains we had the Goat curry, Paneer Lababdar and Veg Manchurian with sides of Garlic naan, Tandoori roti and Cucumber raita. You won’t be disappointed. Keep up the great work guys, we had a fantastic evening out.

We love Aalishan. It is our favourite Indian restaurant in Townsville. The food is consistently delicious and the staff are so accommodating and helpful. A great place!

This was one of my favourite indian dining experiences. Everything was so clean, fresh and authentic. I liked how the dishes weren't bulked up with cheap cream like some indian restaurants. This place uses really fresh ingredients. Manager and staff were so friendly asking how food was. Even the toilets were spectacular haha, so clean and fancy. Thank you Aalishan.

The service was amazing, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing, the cleanliness was amazing.
What more can I say.

The vegetarian / vegan dishes are flavourful, wholesome, and delicious. The service was service and the menu was well priced. Happy customer indeed. Will be back for more!!

I am impressed by the Aalishan. It was our first time in the Aalishan. The food is the best Indian food I had so far not just in Townsville, but also in the UK, NZ, USA, Canada, Singapore, SE Asia, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane, not to mention other smaller places in Australia. It was an absolutely authentic North Indian cuisine, and you may specify how hot you wish to have it done (I am not a fan of spicy hot foods). The service was superb, with attention to details, very polite, antisipating any needs and very quick. A found that the wine list was good, but served with a class. I choose a very nice chilled fiano wine (Australian), served in very nice chilled wine glasses. I also noticed that at another table a child was placed in a very sturdy high chair (parents take notice). The Punjubi music was playing in the background, but not so loud to kill a conversation. The decor was modern, the furniture was comfortable. The parking was much easier to find than closer to other restaurants and pubs in Palmer Street.
No doubt, my family will be back in the Aalishan restaurant. We all highly recommend it to our friends and readers of my review. It is an example of the fine dining in an Indian restaurant.

Hands down the best Indian food we've eaten in Australia. The poppadoms were fantastic, as was the prawn puri. My partner said the lamb bhuna was one of the best he's ever tried. Friendly staff. A must visit when in Townsville.
