I've absolutely loved my experience at The Academy both on and off the mats. I arrived in Australia from the states about 7 months ago and started training immediately as a way to meet people and continue my training that I started back home. The gym is very clean and well kept and the staff and people who train there are amazing as well. The gym is full of friendly, talented people that quickly make you feel like family. There is also a diverse mix of people, locals and international as well as plenty of women to train with which is very important to me as well. Definitely worth checking out, you won't regret it!

The instructor is the current world champ in both gi and no-gi. So clearly knows his stuff. All the instructors are legends.

The Byron Bay Academy is one of the the best places I have ever trained. Professor Thalison’s coaching methods are easy to understand and follow. The training environment is very friendly and supportive with everyone on the mats happy to help.

Fantastic gym, highly skilled trainers, and great management. Have been a member for a couple of months and this is the BEST way to keep fit. Hats off to the management who have created a superb culture that is inclusive of everyone no matter skill level, background or age. This is my favourite place to train. I couldn't ask for more from my trainers, Tima and Jarrod in muay thai and Shane in boxing. Each one of them have so much to give and are so good at what they do. I have been training here for 8 months now and I always leave with a smile on my face. Alice's delicious Green Machine Smoothies are a fabulous way to finish.

Came here for a bjj seminar. Amazing space and professor Thalison is a legend practitioner and great teacher. Highly recommend you visit here if in Byron Bay.
