Canberra Rex Hotel

I stayed at the Rex for three nights on a business trip and had an exceptional experience. The service was outstanding, and the facilities were excellent; room was big and had everything i needed. Breakfast was fantastic, with a great variety and quality of food. I loved the coffee :)

The hotel's proximity to the CBD made it very convenient, tram is also 2 min away. The rooftop bar was one of the highlights of my stay; The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing evening with my colleagues after a long day. We had a great time enjoying the view and the drinks.

Next time I am in Canberra, I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

This hotel was a very comfortable stay with everything you need and an amazing roof top bar with great food and cocktails! The staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Refurbishment has been very successful with great quality rooms available now. Also the breakfast room with panoramic views is great on level 5.
Bar on level 6 the Howling Moon is great also, especially at sunset!

Recently stayed for a business trip and the facilities were very nice and modern, rooms were clean and tidy and location was close to everything. Staff were also very friendly and helpful for my 4am checkout. Will stay again next time I visit for work.

Range of rooms from standard to suites all have very comfortable beds always get a great night sleep. Short walk to arrive at plenty of dining options if you don't want to eat in too.

We had a great Staycation at the Rex, it’s a hidden Gem that’s for sure. amazing you can have a Sauna in your own room and an absolute bargain price. plus the best Sleep in that bed!!

with the howling moon on the roof with great views and drinks, free onsite parking and a short walk to Braddon. it really is the ideal spot and ticks all our boxes. will definitely come back.

We stayed their on NYE and it was excellent. I unfortunately took a bit of a turn in my health during our Canberra short break and ended up in hospital for a day and the REX was terrific in supporting my wife and arranging extra nights in our same room at near original discount room rates which made my recovery much easier. The staff were all excellent and will definitely be back!

Could not be any more happier with the service we received from Ryan! He went above and beyond our expectations and made our stay even better. Me and my partner will definitely stay here again

A great hotel! We spent 5 days in Canberra.
The room was comfy and well appointed.
If I could have taken that shower home with me, I would have!
But hands down, the highlight of our stay was Aman- he serviced the front desk in the evening for the majority of our stay.
What a wonderful, thoughtful man he is.
If I could personally give him 5 stars, I would.

Good location, 2mins walk to tram station. Clean room, quick check in and free parking. Enjoy my stay.

I had a great time at The Rex and was so pleasantly surprised by the service of the entire staff, namely Ryan who was an angel first thing in the morning.

I enjoyed all of what the hotel had to offer and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Stayed at the Rex with a group for Summernats. Nicole and Ryan were more than accomodating for all our needs and helped whenever possible. This is the 2nd time I have stayed with the Rex and will be back! Again thanks Nicole and Ryan! You guys were both amazing and helpful! Perfectly situated for the city and Summernats. Rooms were clean and the beds were super comfortable.

Our go to place in Canberra. Easy to find, free parking and great staff. Rooms are very quiet.

Buffet breakfast is sensational.

Very pleased with the room we stayed. Beautiful view with very little disturbance. Staff were always polite. Located close to the parliament and shopping center. Really enjoyed our stay.

Rooms were pleasant, very clean, staff just delightful, natural and genuine. Bar & food all good. I would choose this hotel again, having stayed in many in Canberra, conference facilities good. A nice balance and not OTT, so it was easy to relax there. Modern facilities with older retro layout but the best sleep I've had in a hotel for years! Quiet despite having lots of people in. Just a couple of blocks to good restaurants. Good room for doing work within the room, internet reliable.

I stayed at The Rex recently and did so because of the convenience of being on Northbourne Avenue. The room was very comfortable and I was delighted when I switched on the kettle in morning to find that green tea was provided. Parking was easy and as the hotel has been refurbished in recent years, the decor was pleasing. The staff on the desk were helpful and polite. I have stayed previously and can remember staying there as a child with my parents. It was one of the first hotels in Canberra.

Great hotel very accessible and they are amazing at event management conference hosting. Close to light rail directly to city or suburbs

It is a pleasure to give five stars to this establishment!
Full a disclosure* I had asked a colleague and friend of mine who he knows in hotels in Canberra and as a favour he contacted management of the Rex Hotel. Yes he sorted with management a deal and that is greatly appreciated when my or their management team make it work.

From my experience working on the ground, management teams sometimes don’t cut through a messages don’t make it. The front desk concierge / manager (my apologies if my terms aren’t correct) is the equivalent or similar to a triage nurse or organiser in hospitals at least in their ability to assess a situation and try to reassure the rest of the people involved.

Last night wasn’t an emergency and it was my teams fault for not sorting the booking which will be fortnightly and fixed. Even though the person before Qasim I could tell had a lot to sort when I called, at 1900, to confirm my booking, they were still pleasant.

Qasim to his credit, on calling again explained the situation and also offered help. Plus he called me back 45 mins later when all guests had arrived as a no show could’ve meant a spare room for me last night, last minute.

Though I did it stay last night at the Rex I almost felt like I did due to the help and care of Qasim and team and I am very appreciative.

Thanks Rex for your rooms to sleep and stay and Qasim and others in reducing the stress of life whilst traveling :)

The room was great, the staff was helpful, free parking. The renovation has made this place amazing.
