Awesome venue with great ambience. Spacious and minimalist decor that transports you well out of Canberra. The food portions are generous. The sugar loaf cabbage was a standout, great flavours with a soft juicy texture. Steak was a good medium rare but slightly on the tough side. I don’t normally get fries but these were perfectly golden crisp, pairing well with the steak. Would recommend if you’re looking for a hearty meal or going out with a group.

We came here for an after work dinner and we were not disappointed. Instead of ordering the "all in" feed me menu we decided to go for the a la carte option. Being 7 people we were able to sample a decent chunk of the available menu options. The first dish took a little longer to arrive than I expected but it wasn't an excessive delay. The rest of the food was delivered to the table at regular intervals with just enough time to savour things in between courses. We left very satisfied. Well worth a try if you're in the area.

Everything here is top-notch. The wine list is extensive but well curated. The food is amazing, and the menu is constantly changing. If you're after something quick, their toasties are second to none. Staff can be aloof but are mostly friendly and always knowledgeable.

Great little restaurant, with a rustic, romantic vibe. The food was excellent! I had the oysters, the cevice and beef tartare. The flavours were different and eccentric, but the chefs made it work well! The beef tartare was quite traditional, but that's exactly what I was hoping for.

Amazing, seriously great food. Every dish was delicious, we would come back here in a heartbeat. We got the all in menu, there was so much food. Every dish was delicious and the highlighta were the lamb rump and the grilled prawns.

We had the degustation menu. Every meal was delicious. We particularly liked the oysters (marinated ones), beef tartare and the quail. The services was fast, and friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming. We would go there again.

This is a really good restaurant in Canberra.

Food is not too fancy and is very balanced. I’m very happy with what we got and it was acceptable pricing.

When you see the owner in the kitchen and in the restaurant, you know that it will be a good meal.

We had lunch here and enjoyed the ambience and food. Service was great and food served promptly. Both dishes that we ordered, eggplant and cauliflower were delicious and flavourful. The coffee was good and strong too. This is a great place for a good dining experience.

Loved our meal here. Excellent cooking, well measured flavours, super approachable and relaxed. It’s also decent value too.

Went for the "all in" menu option, which was basically 7 options from the menu - all at the choice of the chef. The top 3 things my group had, had to have been the grilled bonito, sugarloaf cabbage and the rib-eye (the rib-eye was SO good). The all in menu choice is such bang for your buck.

Service was really professional and friendly, and staff were very attentive with our empty plates and removing them. Rebel Rebel is a fantastic place to go to.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Food in either good design or a simple but pure and fresh taste. Tried the rib eye steak and tuna salad, both excellent in flavour and generous in quantity. The combination of tuna and watermelon is interesting, worth trying. Also noted that the service in time and professional. Recommended.

Delicious, beautiful food, great atmosphere and lovely service. Not the fanciest fit out, but I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back! Love that it’s a smaller seating capacity as well - feels more private and exclusive.

The oysters were some of plumpest and best I’ve ever had, quality was incredible.

Came here for a birthday lunch for the first time today. The flavours were amazing, with a wonderful variety in the meals.
The staff were friendly and attentive and the meals were brought out one at a time as we finished the previous dish. Not cheap, but definitely worth it.

I once heard a rumour that The Melbourne Rebels annd their fans eat here superstitiously before games with the Brumbies and that the food puts them in satisfied, engaging mindset. Had to check this out and I wasn’t disappointed. Recommend trying a few of the tapas style sharing dishes and grazing. Great flavors and worth trying the “Feed me” menu too. Amazing atmosphere with great character and a caring hostess/owner/manager.

Updated 3 Nov 2023. Worth another visit. Eventhough I’m not exactly a big fan of burrata, radicchio salad with walnut was quite a pleasing combination. Whiting simply cooked was quite good.
Last minute walk in and scored an outside table. Pleasant night for dining out under the stars. Zucchini, tomato/nectarine colatura salad and beef rib. Washed down with some sparkling water. Wine drinkers will definitely have a great time at this licensed restaurant. Very reasonable price. Definitely worth revisiting +

We had the beef tartare (best I’ve ever had!), rib eye (amazingly tender and flavoursome!), fries (perfectly moreish) and cocktails (Sunny Afternoon - ideal if you like your cocktails tart, I loved it!)

I would highly recommend this place if you’re in town!

We ordered all-in set menu for $90pp, and it’s so worth it. Every dish is amazing. Very fresh sauce, ingredients and creative recipes. We were surprised by the tender beef tongue sandwich, fresh mayo fries(I don’t usually like fried food but it’s so tasty!), beef tartar was amazing, and the cauliflower tastes so differently it almost taste like meat.

Very worth a visit! I recommend every dish.

For a long time, this restaurant menu left me Thinking on it after finished.
We ordered beef tartare, wow this is perfect for starting this tartare will melt in your mouth. Then we had the quail, for my self was a bit dry but my husband loves it. Then we went for the lamb , you should definitely try this cut of lamb with this perfect soft mint sauce. Thanks chef great work’

We love this place! Food is amazing as is the service. Chef is inventive and quality is wonderful. Go for the Chef menu. Incredibly good food with great service. Fresh, inventive, quality and more quality.

We started with beautiful sydney rock oysters 2 ways; natural and with an amazing, zesty vinaigrette to awaken our pallets. This was followed by octopus, char grilled to perfection. Soft and delectable on a bed of fancy exquisite mash potato, that my wife has a fancy name for…. And it certainly was fancy. I love octopus and eat it where I can and this was very very good. Next was steak tartare. Simple ingredients, expertly prepared One of the best. Next was prawns. Again char grilled and truely wonderful.
Then it was time for vegetable. A baked cauliflower and baked cabbage. Again simple food prepared exquisitely….. even the kids would love this😊.
Finally the rib eye……. What can one day but… thank you Chef. Incredible

What’s really cool is Chef cares! As we left tonight he thanked us for our review and called us by name. Nowhere in the world has this happened previously. Again, if you are in Canberra and like good quality food prepared well and inventively…. Do yourself a solid… check it out, be open and trust to Chef…. He has spent a lifetime learning food, service and quality. If you don’t appreciate food and service go to maccas if you do……... enjoy
