Saunders Beach Park Rest Area

A beautiful beach with plenty of parking. A good place for a family day out with a playground, plenty of grassed space to run around and covered tables and BBQ. The only issue is that someone left the BBQ an absolute mess. It was disgusting. Thankfully we didn't need to use it during our trip.

Best beach in Townsville. Fishing off the beach, great for families and photo sessions, BBQs available, toilets, camping for a fee.

This has always been the gem on the Townsville coast. There are Six sites available for RV, caravan or tents but they need to be booked through the Townsville City council prior. The bbq areas are shaded and well maintained.

Great free camp, plenty of room for a 20ft van, with the awning out. Up close to neighbours but everyone was chill and respectful when we were there. Nice breeze so minimal midgies. Good fishing on the beach and in the river. Beautiful park area with big trees to keep it cool. Cute town too!

Great stop to camp for up to 48 hours, once a week. Toilets, water, barbeque available.

Wonderful little campsite 60m from the shore. Clean toilets. Short 5min walk to Althaus Creek produces good fishing, especially with live bait.

Nice beach! Perfect for relaxing walk or a spot of fishing. Sunset are great too!

A great free camp small area and possibly entertaining with young backpackers and their roof top campers .they really shake.. 🤣🤣🤣 Very close to the beach we could hear the waves coming in. But just be aware and remember crocs are around ...

Great Free Council Campground. Only 6 can fit here & you must book. Beautiful beach, good kids playground, clean toilet block. No showers

Fantastic free camping spot. On the beach, beautiful trees, picnic/BBQ areas and public toilets. There is also and outside shower and play park. If you are here for camping arrive early afternoon as a lot of people do not park with thought for others arriving after themselves.

Beautiful long stretch of beach with not many people. Playground, tables, toilet outdoor shower. There isn't a lot of designated space for campervans/ caravans so get in early.

Great fishing and beach with a cute eating area/park w’ toilets... only little downfall is no showers.. However ENJOYED our stay... Thx Saunders Beach...👌🏼

A nice little spot to hangout with friends and family. Has a small playground and a nice fishing spot. The camping spot is in the carpark so make sure you get there early.
