Barristers Block Wines

I had my 70th birthday celebration at Barristers Block Wines and it was a wonderful event. The service was great - food came out at timely intervals, the staff (Mandy) regularly checked what we needed and took some great group photos :) It was a memorable day and recommend as a lovely venue. It helped that the weather was lovely too :)

Beautiful location with great food and wine.
Kids enjoyed the wildlife and plenty of room for them to kick a ball around whilst we enjoyed some bubbles.

Absolutely sensational place to enjoy a summer's afternoon with a leisurely lunch on the lawn under the shady trees. Had the dip and pizza menu, sounds basic but they're absolutely superb.

Such a wonderful ambiance and experience. First time visiting, but will certainly be back. Julia (Jordie) was so pleasant to talk to about all the wines while tasting, not to mention her passion for Newcastle FC 🍷⚽

Absolutely beautiful place. The staff were extremely helpful and food and service A+ The kids had so much grass area to play and animals to see. We took some toys for the kids to play with and was just such a perfect day. Thank you to all for making my 40th a beautiful one

Made a booking for 8 with friends and was absolutely delighted when we arrived. The venue was superb. we first did a tasting and then we sat outside under the shade of umbrellas. We had the set menu that also catered for one vegetarian. The food was wonderful and plentiful with perfectly matched wines. The staff were engaging and very friendly. I would absolutely recommend. We will be back.

Amazing service, great cheese platter and great spot for couples or families. The rose was wonderful - we took two bottles home. Not pretentious at all, just beautifully executed. Great experience we will be back!

Barristers Block Wines generously took on our booking of 20 people over the weekend on 24 hours notice when our other venue cancelled on us. Fantastic, fast and caring hospitality. We had the shared $49 set menu; there was a generous amount of food included for the price. If you are booking for a large group I definitely recommend this place, and a great place to stop for lunch on a wine tour!

Three years ago, we rated this winery just 2/5 stars. After our visit yesterday, I’m pleased to say this has been upgraded to 5 stars!!

We are always pleased to be proven wrong! The changes made at Barristers Block have resulted in an immensely improved experience!

We have to admit, the previous review was too harsh. This was partly due to swarms of European yellow jacket wasps - an invasive wasp species that causes havoc when trying to eat outside.

This was certainly no longer an issue - not a wasp in sight yesterday!

As previously stated, setting is lovely - beautifully maintained and stunning scenery.

There’s a great play area for the kids and some geese, chickens, deer and games to keep them entertained. The big sandpit was, again, popular.

You can order from the kiosk but full waited table service was available. Our waitress admitted it was her first day but still did a fantastic job.

The menu has been improved IMHO. It’s a set $49 pp with starting platter and the choice of 1/4 pizzas each. Great food and presented beautifully.

It was a scorching hot day but there was ample seating in the shade and a cool breeze. Waiting staff tended to their guests regularly and made sure there was always plenty of water.

There was live music, a buzzing vibe yet a relaxed atmosphere.

Also, the wine. Yes, it was exquisite. This stunning winery, run by the Allen family, comes highly recommended.

Make sure you get yourself to Barristers Block this summer and experience the best the hills has to offer!

Awesome Winery, Live Music and Events place to celebrate Australia Day

They were one of the few open on Boxing day and we're so glad to have stopped in. It's a beautiful property with a small kitchen serving charcuterie and pizza (on boxing day. There's a bigger menu on normal days). Of course you come for the wines and they didn't disappoint! They have a lovely sparkling shiraz to start and some excellent 'museum' quality shiraz to finish. It was a wonderful visit and I would recommend it!

A treasure at our doorstep. Gorgeous boutique winery with accommodation. Great location. Beautifully presented throughout and friendly staff. Great choice of wine at its tasting cellar. Offering a selection of delicious grazing platters and pizzas. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards, walking distance to Melba choc factory and Woodside Cheese, short drive to famous Hahndorf.
A perfect place for a day trip or stay. A home away from home.

We held our work Christmas party at Barristers Block on a Friday lunch time. Before the event Kylie made it incredibly easy and pain free to organise, both on the phone and via email - she was a pleasure to coordinate with.
Upon arrival the staff had laid out our wine tasting selections against our name tags - completely above and beyond and unexpected.
The staff were fantastic throughout the day. The venue was gorgeous. We sat in the picturesque hay shed to eat due to the terrible weather, and as it cleared up we ventured out into the garden to play outdoor games under the trees.
The grazing platters and pizzas were very tasty and great value for money - they brought out pizzas until we were full.
I would definitely recommend Barristers Block to everyone and we would not hesitate to go back. Thanks for the great day Kylie, Angus and the team.

The Barristers Block / Boston Bay Oyster HQ Masterclass was fun and informative, with awesome oysters paired to delish BB wines, followed by a really nice main course and more wonderful wines, all set in Barristers stunning gardens.
A great day that was well beyond the value of admission.
This is a "must do" so if you get a chance to book one, do it!

A must do in the Adelaide Hills! We attended Barrister’s Block for a friend’s birthday for lunch and had the most wonderful day. The outdoor setting is peaceful and absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful surroundings of nature with lots of animals, flowers and butterflies. It felt like bliss. Food and wine were insanely delicious - highly recommend the dips, pizzas, the Pinot Noir and sparkling. We were so well looked after by all of the friendly staff - shoutout specifically to servers Jaiden, Holly and Makaila who were so friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had the perfect amount of food and drinks at all times, provided wonderful recommendations and who were so accomodating in helping us enjoy various spots of the property (under the tree and the lawn). We will absolutely be back!!

We heard about this from a family of fellow dissatisfied customers at Artwine around the corner funnily enough (Not gunna talk about them here, but they were not nice there).

Very welcoming atmosphere and the owners couldn't be nicer and engaging with us, along with other people around them too. The outdoor area is awesome and the animals out and about is a nice touch. My partner and I are looking forward to bringing friends and family back sooner rather than later. Very dog friendly along with family friendly. Great day out. Cheers.

Beautiful environment, relaxed indoors or on the outdoor lawn or patio. Wines are excellent as is light meals, tasting platter, and delicious pizza. Lovely environment and good friendly service. From New Zealand and thank you for hood hospitality.

We had a great experience of wine tasting and lunch using the SA tourism voucher. We were not disappointed. All the staff were wonderful and the wine and food were very generous. The tasting room is not huge but we were there early so not crowded. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of room and even some cute farm animals - deer, geese,chickens.
