Ken's Camp

Ken's Camp was great lovely quiet flat spot. Very clean, Ken also collects cans etc for local palliative care so please leave separate at bins. Only 4klm from Taroom with great facilities $2 hot showers at Lions Park well stocked friendly town

There's a sign out front that says "camp at own risk", it's because of rising waters. Don't get disheartened. It's a beautiful sight equipped with everything you wish a campground would have (fire pits, dry wood, over the fire bbq items, rubbish bins). Toilets are in town so please be mindful of that. They have showers in town as well. As a female, I used 2 $2 coins to have a proper shower one after the other (hots to the left, cold to the right). Unsure about laundromats. If by chance I ever pass through here again, I'd definitely be staying there.

Leave a coin donation, Ken obviously puts in a lot of time to keep this place immaculate for us campers.

Very quiet left gold coin donation only issue owners dogs roam free so watch where you step.

For a bush camp this place is great , clean , plenty of room , Ken has planted gardens and trees around so it very relaxing and he provides wood and a fire pit at each camp site , we have a 24’ van , got in and out no problems at all.

We are here now, fantastic bush camping 3klm from Taroom. Had a beer or 3 with Ken . Although it is quiet here we feel very safe, well worth the stop over and may stay a few nights.

Perfect little campsite set up by Ken and kept so clean and tidy. Donation box, books, seats, wood... Just need to be self sufficient as no water or toilets. Lots of space for 4wd, caravans it even a big rigs or 2! Creek at end of campsite makes for some nice fishing. Thanks Ken, awesome spot!

Free camp, but please leave a donation in the box. Ken does an almighty job looking after this place, an unpaid labour of love. He keeps the grass mown, has planted trees, a passionfruit vine and dragon fruit, has built all the fire pits himself. Has also put in a weatherproof book exchange box.
No amenities, no power or water. Just a beautiful, peaceful site to be enjoyed by all who love camping.
Borders a lovely creek where redclaw can be found when the weather is warmer than now.

Can't fault this camp, super clean, fire pits at every camp, Ken's friendly.
If this place had toilets it'd be even better!

Great donation camp only 5 mins from town, quiet well kept sites. No amenities, but well worth the stop over!

Ken’s camp is a coin donation camping area south of Taroom. It’s well maintained with no amenities other than fire pits and bbq’s. It was excellent! We will stay there anytime we are up that way for sure. There was 2 other couples staying there who loved it so much they set up camp for 2Weeks!!! I’ve posted pics to show you how basic it is but seriously if you fully off grid with your camping it’s a no brainer to stay there.

Ken's Camp is a free camp 4kms from Taroom on the Roma road. It is beautifully maintained by Ken. He has planted an array of trees, cleared camp sites. The river is a stone's throw from the campsite and at the moment is rich in red claw.

In town there is water available at the lions park near the Caltex roadhouse. There us a laundromat in the Shopping arcade at are. Grocery stores and Sgreat butcher AJs. Well worth a stay. Thee is a donation box at the camp. Also for $2 a hit shower at lions park
