Orpheus Loudspeakers

I agree with Jason, here on reviews...I started out wanting a career in sound engineering before opting for radio. I was lucky enough to sit in Len Wallis's sound lab and was blown away with the sound precision, clarity and overall depth of these speakers for an unparralled price point. Matched with NAD Amp, CD and radio, I bought one set for myself and complete setup for my dear friend, who got me into radio in the first place as a gesture to say thanks. It set me back a bit but its been money well spent, 16 years later the sound is as perfect as the day I was blown away by them. Top of the range Aussie made, A1 product.

This review is from the perspective of a loudspeaker designer, unaffiliated alas, and not currently in the industry. The two loudspeakers Orpheus have in their lineup are as good as it gets in the price range. My brother Lucas and I auditioned nearly every loudspeaker Len Wallis Audio had. The Orpheus were "very obviously" the most natural, even, detailed, and dynamic under $4500. We were unaware of the name of the speakers until we walked up to look at the label. I was surprised and proud when it was revealed it was the Australian brand Orpheus we were hearing sounding better than the others.

I have owned Orpheus Aurora 3’s and they were truly an amazing speaker that punched 4-5x it’s price and one of only a couple of loud speakers I’ve heard that moved me emotionally. A great product and incredible value.

After 20 years these speakers are still brilliant. Support an Australian brand and get the best value for money. You won't go wrong.
