A real family style restaurant. Staff were very pleasant and the service was fast.

I had the slow cooked goat and it was melt in your mouth.

Have plenty of gluten free options which we appreciated.

Highly recommended - will definitely be coming back.

Hosted a birthday for around 30 family members and Alex was very accommodating. The food was absolutely fantastic and service from all the wait staff was of a very high standard. I asked if everyone enjoyed their meals and it was unanimously enjoyed by all. The garlic bread is fantastic, and that's only the start!

Delicious food and great attention. We had the ravioli and it was so yummy! We will go back soon! Grazie!

We went for dinner last night and were greeted by Lara, the most welcoming person ever! This was just a great start. We asked her name as we were so happy with the service, we just wanted to show our appreciation. She looked after us all night, made sure we were comfortable at our table, checked regularly if we needed anything, if everything was going well…good service can really make the whole experience different!

Food was super tasty, my partner ordered fresh handmade pasta that was delicious! Only little comment I have, but won’t change my experience at all as these things can happen and it’s fine, is that my carbonara was lacking a bit of taste. But, I worked in hospitality and I always find that respectful comments can help improve!

The whole night was great and we were treated amazingly well, we will come back!!

I recently dined at La Vela and was thoroughly impressed. The authenticity of the Italian cuisine truly stood out, especially with the handmade pasta, which was amazing, that was the best ragout I have ever had. The portions were generous too providing great value for money. The sticky date pudding was also to die for. The whole staff were well trained and warm to the guests. Especially Alex who ran the place seamlessly and ensuring every table left happy. Highly recommend!

I took the family out tonight for dinner here for my birthday, great decision the food was beautiful and the service was amazing!
Alex does a great job of running the restaurant and is very warming with the customers.

We both chose gnocchi last night for our meal and it was sensational. Best gnocchi we have eaten. La Vela is a lovely little restaurant well worth visiting. Highly recommended

We recently dined at La Vela and was thoroughly impressed. The Spinnach and Ricotta handmade pasta that I had was amazing and my husband had the Taglita on a sizzle plate which was very tasty. The wine list was good and everything was reasonably priced. All the staff were professional and welcoming. Definitely recommend for some great Italian food.

Very warm welcome. Service was attentive and friendly. Food we ordered Beef Cheeks, Parpadelle all' Agnello, white chocolate pannacotta, flour less chocolate cake and coffee, all excellent.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Been to La Vela a couple of times so I brought my friends and a family from Taiwan. Everyone enjoyed the food and were all so full last Sunday night. Will definitely come back again

We had dinner at La Vela last night and were a group of 16 people. Everyone in the group enjoyed the night. Service was attentative, food was amazing and the restaurant had an atmosphere of a traditional Italian family restaurant.
José greeted us and took us to our table and served our drinks over the night. A wonderful selection of wines, beers and cocktails. The limoncello spritz was wow. All the girls serving food were lovely too, constantly smiling and attentative to our needs. One of our party was coeliac and there was enough choices of gluten free options for her.
Thank you all at La Vela for making my daughters 18th birthday dinner an enjoyable evening.
We will definitely be back.

The personell was very nice and friendly. The food was good. We had garlic prawns (that were delicious), carbonara pasta (tasty as well) and a beef dish with a lind of gravy and vegetables (good too). Pairing wine was great. Recommend it for a dinner if you are in Scarborough area.

accidentally made a mistake on the uber eats app for their pasta and the man on the phone who worked at la vela called me to give me options of choices for me since i’m vegetarian. really appreciated and such a nice man. thank you!!

I've been twice in the last three weeks and each time the food and service were superb. All of us really enjoyed our meals and they were great value.

The photo does not do this meal justice! This was one of the best Italian meals I’ve had out in a long time. My partner and I shared the seafood risotto and spaghetti marinara. Both were incredible with lots of fresh seafood, the standout was the risotto it was amazing. We received complimentary arancini which were also delicious. Staff were wonderful too. Two seafood mains, a bottle of wine and an entrée all for $110. We will definitely be back ☺

This is an amazing place. Authentic homemade Italian food. Everything we ordered was delicious! The gnocchi with duck ragout, was so tasty soft pillows of potato like I have never had before. Homemade pasta Alfredo cream sauce equally good. If I lived here I would go again for sure, traditional home cooked Italian goodness. YUM.
