River Journeys: Australian Sikh Heritage Trail - Adenia Park

Interesting history, well designed memorial, lovely setting. Well worth a visit if you are interested in local history or just want a nice place for a picnic. There's a nice children's playground nearby.

This is in a public park near my house and I often walk here. Canning River is nearby and there is a dog exercise area. Well worth visiting.

A lot of history here. Very well represented and ethically commemorated. Quite relevant for the Sikh community who can find a sense of belonging in WA.

A terrific little walk that explains and illustrates a piece of local history that not many are aware of. There are 4 "information" stations, each with plaques that detail the history and feature newspaper articles of past times. Each station also has a seat. I really enjoyed visiting it. A real credit to those that conceived and implemented the project. Very welcomed. There is a nearby grassed area with a children's playground and picnic hut - part of the original park.

I learnt a lot more about the Sikh's history in early Australia and their innovative solutions to helping far flung communities develop.

Arrive just as the sun is coming up for a beautiful walk seeing all the water birds start their day.
