Perfect location. Pleasant decor, cottage contained everything needed. Generous breakfast provisions. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Not too bad

After our experience at the so called grand hotel milldura this place is like heaven great location and everything you would want for a great holiday. we could not be happier with everything 9/10 great job

I booked a two bedroom cottage for two nights at $450 only to find a sign on the second bed stating the there would be an additional $50 charge per night if the second bed was used. If I wanted a one bedroom cottage I would have booked a one room cottage. I have mentioned this deception to several commercial operators in Clare and they are dismayed as am I. If nothing else this is deceptive marketing.

Arrived on a cold and wet Day to find the door code didn’t work and after many calls to the caretaker, we got a key and let ourselves in to a very cold, dark, dingy and mosquito infested cottage. Not a great start. Heating is provided by 2 inadequate air conditioners, one of which was turned on and we subsequently froze the entire time we were there. The only way to get warm was to go to bed, not very exciting as we don’t normally turn in at 7.30pm. Sleep, when it came, was rudely interrupted by dive bombing mosquitos. Also, starting the day with low water pressure, stingy towels in a freezing cold bathroom is not my ideal. We are native South Australians who now reside interstate and have spent many, many wonderful times in the Clare Valley. This was not one of them and if the owners cannot provide adequate heating in winter then best to not rent this property out. We will return but most certainly not to Donnybrook cottages.
