Well worth a stop along Caves Road. Not every day you see structures that could be “billons” of years old. Take your time. Yes everyone has the same photographs but remember you see much more than you do in a photo. You can see forms in the structures.

The perfect self-guided walk through cave in the area! They supply you with torches and helmets, it takes around 40 minutes to complete. Staff are also very helpful and lovely people. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted, but if you have the chance to, definitely pop in!

This cave is more raw and natural than the big 4 in the area. Self guided with your own helmet and torch supplied. Great value when paired with Giants Cave, we were lucky to get in early and had the place to ourselves, absolutely loved it.

Great experience at Calgardup Cave! Rusty was really welcoming and knowledgeable.
We hadn’t done a self guided cave before so it was a nice change from the other caves in the area. Very quiet and peaceful.

You go back and forth through both sides of the cave. Beautiful stalactites throughout, very nice wooden pathway to walk on - no risk of getting muddy shoes. The staff is very informative, will help with all questions and lend good helmets and lights.
Very fun and easy cave to do without any guidance but your own.

Arriving we were provided helmets, torches and some basic instruction about the cave for the self guided tour. Lots of pretty "jewels" and stalectites/gmites. After the stair decent, opportunities allowed to get down low as well as lights out to experience total blackness. Highly recommended for an authentic cave experience and a great opportunity for a family outing. There are no age limits for entry. Do as first cave if thinking of doing together with Giants cave.

Unlike the other caves this one is self-guided and you are left to your own to explore (within the boundaries of the path) which is a lot more fun! Turning out the lights at the end of the cave was a surreal experience and I highly recommend trying it.

It was affordable and cheap and the staff were lovely. Highly recommended if you are in the area before hitting the wine region!

I was lucky and got to visit the cave all by myself. At first, I was a bit anxious walking through absolute darkness with nothing but two torches but you'll get used to it and even appreciate it in the end. It's a new form of darkness and silence which I've never experienced before. Breathtaking. The signs are really informative. Also a big thanks to the employee who explained everything in a simple manner. Worth a visit! PS: It's pretty chilly so make sure to take a jacket with you.

Unique experience! 30$ might seem a little bit expensive, but it's more than worth it! You get a helmet and a flashlight at the entrance, a quick safety instruction and there you go ...

Beautiful small cave, easily accessible from stairs and boardwalks. Ranger gives you helmet with torch, and was nice to go at your own pace, look at the amazing stalagmites and stalagtites (not to mention the shawls etc). Some areas of the cave glittered with all the calcite and droplets. And fun to turn off the lights and be the complete darkness.

There are many caves to visit in these parts. You really should explore at least one while in the area.

If you had to choose one cave in the area, this is your best bet!! 18$ pp
Wonderful experience. Alone in a dark but beautiful cave. We loved that we could explore this cave ourselves, flashlight and helmet provided. Not operated by the ‘big tourism’ company, so you’re hereby supporting local wildlife department.

Great cave to visit for a self guided tour. Not well sign posted or promoted, probably because there is no wine or cheese involved.

Pleasant surprise as we detour and found this lovely 'little' cave. Self guided with helmets and lights provided. At own pace.

Brilliant gem. Easy walk and all boardwalk. Also contains a nice lake after these winter rains.

Amazing caves that you explore via torch light....a bit low in spots so not for those who are claustrophobic. Highly recommended
