De Bortoli Wines Yarra Valley Cellar Door and Restaurant

Beautiful cellar door with excellent tastings. The views here are pretty but it's the tastings that are memorable. Had a tasting with wine and cheese pairing and the pairings were so well done. Both the wines and cheese shone and while I prefer drinking reds, all 5 wines that we tasted were delicious. Our host and server was very knowledgeable, good at explaining the tastings, and hospitable. Totally recommend

I’ve been here many times and it is always such a pleasure to talk to the staff here.

Ladies who serve wines in the cellar know a lot about wines and give you enough details to choose what kinda wines you need to go with.

I must say the restaurant during the week is a must. I still enjoyed everything when I came weekends previously but the peace around the winery made every moment so perfect.

I needed a break and my needs were fully satisfied with good wine, food and people.

Make sure to bring a designated driver if you can😋😆😅

We had a very hearty meal with generous portions. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

My friend who is a chef said the duck breast meat was excellent and the best she ever had.

Mushroom risotto was very tasty with a strong mushroom flavour.

Dessert was excellent too.

The drive to De Bertolli was very enjoyable and part of the experience coming here. The winery, gardens and building are exquisite. The restaurant atmosphere is an authentic Italian feel.

Our waiter, Jarvis, was friendly and got the balance right for timing of service. He assisted us to match our wine to the meal with a wine tasting first. The chosen wine was delicate and lovely, matching the lightness of the dishes we chose.

As a foodie and taste consultant, I have a very sensitive sense of smell and taste. Each of the dishes were delectable, elegant and perfectly balanced and visually pleasing. The textures and visual quality made the experience exceed our expectation. The hardest part was choosing from the exceptional menu.

Compliments to the chef, Ben Levine. If you want something unique and truly beautiful come and enjoy De Bertolli. You'll be delighted as we were.

Knowledgeable and friendly service from the staff. Food was very tasty, many great options on the menu and each dish was balanced in flavour, was well presented, and just the right portion size for a three-course meal. Waiter recommended wine to accompany each course, and was matched perfectly. Tranquil and picturesque amongst the vines. Very clean and well maintained gardens. We were travelling with our puppy and made to feel very welcome in the outdoor area, where a table was set up especially for us. If you are travelling with your fur companion be sure to call ahead so a table can be reserved for you as reservations are not made for the outdoor area.

The wine tastes good, sweet and delicious. Next time will come to visit again.

We did the tasting menu at the cellar door and it was amazing. We had Jasmine serve us. She was amazing and she definitely knew her wines. The tasting menu was amazing. Definitely recommend the Syrah and the noble one botrytis semillon 2019. Definitely a must try in the Yarra Valley

Went here as part of our Wine and Wildlife tour and I absolutely enjoyed our time here. Started with a wine tasting. Wines were great and food was exceptional. The view was wonderful and I would definitely recommend!

It was quite affordable too!! Definitely will come back.

We dropped in for lunch at the restaurant and were lucky enough to get a table - definitely one with bookings encouraged! We had the pink menu, supporting cancer research, and it was all simply devine, from the food and wine pairing, to the flavour combinations to the presentation and the service. If you're not in the mood to splurge on food, they have an excellent picnic ground with an amazing view of the entire vineyards estate - it's massive. There's a separate toilet for restaurant diners and for other visitors. Theres a Tesla charging station. And for those with an interest in gardening, they have a flourishing vegetable and fruit patch that you'd probably enjoy discovering. Plenty of parking. Tastings were $5, redeemable on bottle purchase, and they have other local delights and trinkets in their shop area too. Will definitely revisit.

The restaurant was booked full so make sure you plan ahead! If you arrive ahead of schedule you can always go to the cellar door downstairs - excellent service and lovely Wines to sample.
The focaccia and black garlic butter were sensational and the perfect start for what was to come. I had the Gnocchi to start - the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. This is a dish that they have been serving since they first opened and they have got this down to a fine art. The beef cheeks and the barramundi are both excellent main dishes. We finished with coffee - excellent coffee.
We visited on a public holiday (Anzac Day) so service was very slow due to several large tables - the kitchen could produce food fast enough. But the food was incredible when it came out so they didn’t let their standards drop.
I would definitely return and dine here again. Highly recommend.

Great winery restaurant with good meals.
Place is very popular especially on weekends so it's always worthwhile to book a table.

The lamb is very nice. Haven't tried any of their wines. Maybe next time.

Such a wonderful lunch. We had been gifted a three course session with paired wines. The cellar door was very busy and so we didn't get a dedicated staff member, but it was no issue as the staff were so lovely and attentive.

We went today for a full tasting wine and the cheeses, the wines are really good, both white and red, and I really loved the noble one, you can buy the wines you taste. We made our wine journey with Gaia who explained all the combinations to us, very kind!

Had a delicious meal here. Loved the wine. Restaurant Manager Tony was delightful! Will definitely be back!

Update 13th Aug 22. So I haven't been back here for 3 years due to Covid19 and lockdowns, and I have forgotten what excellence in dining this place is. I usually would order a pasta dish, but this time ordered the beef steak, medium and boy was this amazing. The meat being tender and delicious. Accompanied by a layered potato thing, and and pasta prawn entre. Lunch ended with a Tirmishu and a Panna cotta. Both were exceptionally delicious. The waiter was very friendly and very knowledgeable, 5stars to her as well. An absolute pleasure once again to dine here.

Update July 19. I believe you don't know dining excellence until you eat at the restaurant at Se Bortoli. Truly amazing food and desserts.

Breath taking views and relaxing location. This restaurant offers sensational food and wine. Enjoyed the food and desserts, one of the best ever. Staff were vert friendly although they do need to take notice of customers ready to order, etc as they we were trying to get there attention a couple of times.

We were given a 3 course meal for 2people with 3 glasses of wine and beautiful sparkling water as a gift.
We had entree with figs and procutto followed by roasted barramundi with garlic roasted pots and a wonderful light salad. Dessert was marinated strawberries that melted in your mouth.. hubby had tiamisi 🍰 so so delish.. Truly an enjoyable experience. The meals were presented beautiful and elegant on the plate..The waiters were very nice and attentive to us...
Truly worth a visit. Brought an amazing bottle of Moscato.. Devine wine..
