Mountain View Retreat

Great owners of the retreat!! Super friendly and hopeful us my group and I, knew lots about the area and the mt Hotham. The place we stayed at was very clean, always stocked up with breakfast items, soft beds and heated rooms during the cold nights we were there. They went out of there way for us and would highly recommend this place. Will be staying again when we come back!

Easiest check-in ever, felt at home as soon as we walked in. Amazing coffee and home-made sausage rolls in the van out the front, as well as ham & cheese croissants and hand-made masks raising money for defibrillator batteries. Back to the room, it was beautiful and cosy, we very much enjoyed our stay in Harrietville. The heater already on when we checked-in was the icing on the cake.

we had a brilliant stay, swing rope obstical course was great fun, river behind was beautiful, great fun for the older kids. close to everything, and the owners were an absolute pleasure to deal with and very helpful. will not hesitate to stay there again. building was very clean, beds comfortable. can't thank the owners enough. thanx for having us. (family with 4 children, 10, 8, 1 and 4.5 months old.)

Fiona and her husband run this very friendly, fun and cosy place. Our hosts could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. They are top quality people. The room was warm, very comfortable and quiet. We just stayed for one night, but would very happily return for longer. Our hosts kindly kept some of our things overnight before we stayed (e.g. our bicycles) as we went on a hike in the mountains. They even watched out for us to make sure we got back safely. They gave us an excellent dinner recommendation. This is a reasonably priced local place and it should appeal to all those who want to enjoy this lovely part of the world, but who do not seek a shiny/corporate hotel experience. I would highly recommend the Mountain View Retreat.

It's tucked away off the main street in amoung natural trees with the river at the back of the property. Very relaxing feel about the place. And Harrietville is a lovely village. We were made to feel very much at home. We had our evening meal at the restaurant and it was a very satisfying meal. Sat back and had a few drinks, very enjoyable. We will book here again for sure.

Love this place. Great food, friendly service in a beautiful location. Great resort fantastic service with good facilities. Great atmosphere during the Harriotville Bluegrass festival. Plenty of charm. The décor is great and it feels warm, friendly, non-gentrified and inviting. Staff were country friendly and very helpful. I'll be back for sure.

We stayed for an Autism Camp and whilst the accommodation is basic the owners care and consideration makes up for it! They were wonderful, effortlessly catering to dietary requirements and getting to know each camper. I recommend for group bookings.

This is by far the most affordable accommodation I have seen near Mt Hotham/FallsCreek. We stayed at unit 2 and rooms were not too big, but could fit 2 of us comfortably. There's complementary breakfast here, which is a choice between toast and cereals. There is also a guest fridge so you can bring your own food too. And no, you cannot cook here. There's a provision for BBQ, but it wasn't very clean. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. You get exceptional value for the price you pay here.. Coming back here for the next season for sure.

Terrific venue for families/groups, but equally food for couples too. Picturesque venue, with common area kitchenettes and lounges

Everything is best about this place, magical views, nearby shop to rent snow gear, coffee shop just outside, and restaurants close by.
Owner/manager is really friendly and just a call away.
Highly recommended.

This is an awesome and very exciting place to stay. Infact, we called them midnight and Fiona and Noel answered very politely. We just arrived there and spent a beautiful night before we heading to Mount Hotham. I strongly recommended this place and very friendly service we obtained. Many gratitude to Noel and Fiona. Perfect location and ideal for group and families. We stayed there for a night and it was a good experience. Self service breakfast included.

Fun atmosphere and close to a good amount of places to eat. Right next door to the chain hire shop! Management leave you to it, which is perfect. Will absolutely return!

Mountain View Retreat has been busy updating facilities.
From our recently installed tea and coffee station in guest lounges to upgraded room TV/DVD systems. Rooms now having flat screen 32'' LCD TV's wall mounted for better viewing and rooms are being wired with USB charging points.
All of site "WiFi" Coming Soon ( now only available in common areas)
