Best greek food around! Everything on the menu is delicious. Get the zucchini flowers, saganaki and lamb skewers. Service could be slightly fast but other that that it was really good and we will definitely be back!!!

SOOOO good!! We love this place, lovely friendly staff and the food is truly amazing. Always fresh, wonderful authentic Greek food and beers (and good wine) and always very accommodating with dietary requirements. We had another great family meal here on Friday evening (one of many over the years). Now that we live a bit further away, we always look forward to our next Ammos “fix” when we are in Melbourne! Thank you Lucky and your great team.

I had my first experience at Ammos last night. Being Greek myself, I always have high expectations of Mediterranean food, however I was not disappointed. We came in late and although the kitchen had just closed they were happy to accommodate us. The Mousaka was quite good, I'd even recommend it to my mum to try, knowing hers is awesome but this was on par. My husband loves the lamb skewers and they were tasty and tender with some good charring. Their pita bread is awesome, their dips are good and the greek salad is what it should be and I really liked the fetta they used, very nice. The home made dolmathers were lovely too, always put lemon on them if you try them, they of course supplied lemon and tzatziki with all plates of food which is what you want. They're service was very welcoming and we felt like we were their friends not just customers. Definitely worth a try if you're in the mood for Greek Food. The musician playing the bouzouki was also a nice touch. It is loud so your yiayia might complain a bit but otherwise enjoy OPA!

The food is excellent and very authentic with friendly service in a very nice environment. We will definitely be going there again.
2 years later - still coming in for dinner and the quality is still superb.

The place to be on a Thursday night, live music, Exceptional customer service! We ordered the Lamb Souvlakia big plate and greek salad and Feta Chips and Saganaki and THE KATAHIFI hit thecspot! Oh..m and the Frappe we had was like silk! Cant wait to go back! EFHARISTW PARA POLI!

Our meals were so fresh, and tasty, your service was excellent, our group enjoyed a platter, moussaka and gyros, then desserts, what a great celebration for my interstate GF pals, thank you for you care and attention!

Had heard good feedback about this place and after attending today it did not disappoint. Greeted warmly upon entering, the food was beautiful and fresh. We were a group of 15 and had the banquet which included seafood at $85 per head worth every cent. Every platter that came out was huge!!! The dips were really good accompanied by crusty bread along with roasted peppers, and fried haloumi. The seafood platter presented beautifully included mussels prawns, rocking, calamri and more. The meat platter was amazing with, chicken, lamb, rissoles etc, a large bowl of salad followed by Greek donuts and baklava. Every bite was sensational. We went home with heaps of left overs. This place has the best Greek food I've ever had!!! Service was friendly and prompt. Will certainly be going back. Highly recommended.

I was visiting Melbourne from Perth and stopped here one night after a recommendation from friends. We were not disappointed- only that it's all the way in Melbourne so we can't visit all the time. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. Highly recommend.

I need everyone reading this to go here and help it be as successful as possible - I don't want it going anywhere before I have a chance to visit again some day.

Work over the Christmas holidays for Ammos Tavern. Super lovely people, great food, variety and portion sizes. I loved every minute of working here and the atmosphere. Being around the corner from the beach is amazing. Great co-workers and a great experience. Highly recommend this spectacular restaurant for a memorable dinner.

Great authentic Greek food with friendly good ol fashion European hospitality

So grateful to have this as our local. Exceptional food, topped only by the fantastic service. We had saganaki, courgette flowers, mixed gyros & scallops - all were outstanding. Our seats outside had sea views and allowed us to enjoy the warm day with food that was delivered at our chosen pace. No rushing, no pressure, just a wonderful time. With restrictions now easing, we’ll definitely be coming back regularly!

BEST Greek dinner/Banquet my family has enjoyed in years! Dips handmade, lamb cutlets were incredible, Prawns seared on grill to perfection. We had one guest with many dietary requirements who didn't even have to have anything modified the dishes were so fresh and produce high enough quality they could afford to keep things simple yet delicious! The dessert plate went in seconds even though we were already so full. Homemade redwine honey cinnamon like port was a generous and beautiful way to finish. We have not stopped talking or thinking about the food and how keen we are to return so we can all order 1 x lamb cutlet main and dip platter each! Thank you! Food matched only by your friendly knowledgeable and hard working wait staff.

AMAZING!!!! Fabulous food, awesome selection of wines and very and warm, attentive and genuine service. The owners are in this restaurant consistently making sure everything runs smoothly. A high quality restaurant has been a long tome coming in the Sandringham Village, but it’s finally here. Definitely our new favorite.
