Ozone Shipwreck 1925

Cool old shipwreck there info about it on the shore near the bike path
It’s great for swimming around but be careful as there is some sharp parts
There’s always a few fish around and beautiful seaweed

Not much left of the Shipwreck of the shore to see now, but a lovely view of Melbourne across the bay. The caravan park was empty because of Covid but when this is over it will be full again

Fond memories of growing up here during the Summer School Holidays and paddling our home-made surf boards out to the wreck. It was scary to us kids back then. My, how she's deteriorated over the years, very sad to see, but that's the unfortunate process wrecks experience over the years. I remember my very first SCUBA diving experience was also here. I've posted a scan of an old photo my mum took of the Ozone, probably late 1960's I'm guessing, I'll see if she has any more.. As you can see, there was much more of her then. Sadly, I suppose come will the day, where it will disappear from view altogether.

A magical wonderland of sea fauna & flora. There are a few stingrays who live here, pays to be cautious but they won't go out of their way to go near you. Bring a pair of snorkelling goggles for the best experience. It is stunningly beautiful, seriously a paradise of different fish and seals etc., and a rainbow of seaweed & coral. Well worth a visit!

A nice place for shore dives, or just snorkeling. you get around 4 meters depth and variety of fish particularly rays around the wreck. Good place for novice divers to practice or to try and check new gear as well as weight checks.

Ozone can be viewed anytime however it's best to be seen during low tide. You can swim up to it. You can also view the anchor that is located on the walking path.

Great beach and the 2 wrecks are great for snorkelling

Great place with a wreck just 50m offshore in shallow water, with superstructure above water. Three rays call this place home. Choose a low wind day to visit and come out with a lilo and your googles and a snorkle.

Ideal for snorkelling, lots of small stingarees, very picturesque. Avoid at weekends as it is very popular
