Our Airbnb host recommended this place for dinner so we went to check it out. Usually it’s a hit or miss trying out different Indian restaurants but this one was really good!! “Medium” spice level was actually spicy (we loved it!). Got the chicken tikka masala and saag paneer - both dishes tasted fresh and made with love. The owner was very personable and friendly as well. Garlic naan and saffron rice was great too. Good amount of food for us two people! Also the mango mojito was delicious and refreshing. 🍹

What fantastic and friendly restaurant! Willing and able to make almost any meal vegan one way or another without sacrificing delicious, rich flavours. So very knowledgeable about the menu and able to explain how it would be changed and what might be the best choices for you.

We came into this restaurant around 5pm on Sunday very hungry and expecting just a so-so late lunch. But this one really surprised us. The quality of food was amazing. The Mango Chicken here was easily the best I have ever had till date. The entrees were also too good - samosas, aloo tikki chaat and onion spinach bhajji. This is a a definite must try for authentic Indian food. The naans were also soft and smooth. Truly worth eating

Went here on Thursday night, friendly staff and amazing Indian food. We got 2
Curries and 2 naan bread for 2 people and it was very filling and the perfect amount. The curries were authentic and one of the best we’ve had. Will definitely be eating here again

What a culinary and hospitality experience!

The owner was very welcoming, and you could clearly tell he is passionate about his work. He greeted every customer that walked in for take aways, while interacting with patrons dinning in. Even on a busy Sunday night, he made sure everyone was made to feel welcomed.

The restaurant in its esthetics is quite simple, adds to the charm of the place.

We ordered some Onion spinach bhaji, Murg curry, Dal Makhani, Keema Naan, garlic, butter Naan and Pistachio ice cream to finish off the delicious Indian food.
The breads were hot and fresh, you could just eat the breads by itself.
Chicken and Lentils curry were just as fresh and delicious. We went in a food coma after.

The Icecream or Kulfi (pistachio) was a perfect way to finish a fine meal.

Would I come back here? Yes for sure. Not just for the food but also to say G'day to the owner who made us feel very comfortable at his warm restaurant.

If you are in Woodend next, i highly recommend this place. They are open till late, and with quite an extensive menu it caters to all.

Best curry I've had in 13 years since moving over from the UK. The place is just amazing as is the owner Sam and his wife. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Came here because of the rave reviews and was not disappointed! We had garlic naan, butter chicken and the vegetable cashew curry. Everything was amazing- we asked for ‘Indian hot’ and it was perfect; spicy but not overpowering, and you could still taste the various flavours and spices. Service was also amazing, really enjoyed chatting with the guy who manages/ owns (??) the place. These curries reminded us of the delicious curries we’ve had in North India, so you know it’s the real deal!

Have eaten in multiple times and ordered takeaway lots of times. Food and service is always 100/100. Very lucky to have a place like this in town. 🙏

Went to the Restobar as it was open after lockdown for my mother’s birthday. To be honest, we weren’t expecting too much from a country Indian restaurant. However, we were blown away by the quality of the food.

We had the banquet. The entrees were delicious, with absolutely stunning onion bahjees. The beef korma, butter chicken and lamb gorsch were a level above, and dessert was delicious.

Honestly, if this was my last meal I’d be happy. Absolutely delicious food, fast friendly service, nice ambiance. The amenities were clean and nice. Check out the door handle when you leave.

Tonight was the first time I have had dinner here and I had an AMAZING time. I give 5 stars for the food, atmosphere, service and most importantly the host SAM. The food was amazing and authentic. It made me feel as if I was in India. The host Sam was the most loveable and friendly man who cares about his customers and makes sure u are provided with the best service. I totally recommend this place!!!! We will definitely be back! Keep up the excellent work everyone, you make this place so special 👌💕

We got takeaway from Sizzler last night and were extremely impressed with the experience we had. We told them that we are both vegan and they immediately explained exactly which items on the menu were vegan/could be made vegan. When we went in to pick up the food the host was very friendly and we had a nice chat with him. The food was really tasty and we were very satisfied with the portion sizes and the quality of the food. We feel fortunate to have stumbled upon this restaurant and will definitely be back next time we visit the area ❤

Sam is such a wonderful host, he was so warm and friendly upon our arrival. We had booked a table for 13 people, and ordered a large assortment of curries and nan breads. All of the curries tasted fantastic and the naan breads were fresh and beautiful.

Best Indian we’ve had in Australia. Highly recommend and thank god this one is local now for us. We will be back. Also the service was great, all staff were very attentive. Food was amazing.

This is hands down one of our favourite restaurants in the Ranges. The owners, Sam and his wife, care deeply about their food, which is consistently great, they have a good wine list with some.local wines, and are always wonderful. We are so glad to have this restaurant here, so if you haven't tried it, do it. You won't regret it.

We have lived in Woodend for 50 years I have known the owner Sammy and staff for many years ,this Indian Sizzler is the best thing thats happened in this town .
i had a birthday treat and can say we all enjoyed the food 1st class .Well done Sammy and staff we will be back .

Best dining experience in a long time, if you want the best Indian in Macedon Ranges and the best customer service you need to book a table asap. Sam is the nicest, funniest man and his staff are so polite and helpful. Definitely worth the drive from romsey. If you want hot you'll get hot, the prawn masala was to die for. Can't wait to go back there again. Such great restaurant and so clean too. Keep up the great work guys you are amazing
