White House Nursery

I ordered a thornless blackberry from Whitehouse nursery a few months ago. It was packaged with care but unfortunately must’ve suffered some damage during transit as one of the stems began ripping off the main steam over the course of the month.

When I reached out to White House Nursery, Jesse was quick to respond and notified me they would send out a replacement. I received tracking updates and today received the blackberry plant.

Their customer service team (I think it’s just Jesse!) Is outstanding and I would highly recommend this nursery.

White House Nursery are fantastic. They have a unique and eclectic range of plants, trees, bulbs etc. They have those special plants that you won't find anywhere else.
This combined with the utmost care and time taken in the packaging of your purchase guarantees that your plants will arrive in top condition. I can't overstate just how good the packaging is.
My most recent order was roughly 40 items ranging from trees to delicate flowers and bulbs, all were individually wrapped in wet paper, bagged to keep the moisture, extra paper to cushion them and all finally boxed into 2 boxes to protect them. All for a flat rate of $16!
It must've taken hours to do, it took me ages to unwrap them and all were in perfect condition upon arrival.
Thanks again for the plants and all the time and effort you put in to making sure that they arrive in the excellent condition that they always do. We will definitely be buying from you again.

I’ve been shopping long distance with Whitehouse for the last few years. They are very knowledgeable, and always go above and beyond answering any questions I have after my purchase if needed. They package everything with great care. I have purchased many fuchsias from Jessie and they’re now thriving beautifully.

I received another order of plants from White House Nursery in perfect condition, the order was well packed and all the plants were correctly labeled. If you are looking to buy plants by mail order, consider placing an order with them, they will not send orders when it is too hot or there is the prospect of postal delays. They take real care with with there plants and want customers to receive them in good condition and have success with them in the garden.
Great range of plants that are not readily available at most nurseries and they always replies promptly with email inquiries that I have made.

Reading the reviews for Whitehouse Nursery, I was so surprised to find an essay page of negative and angry review.
But I can only tell you my experience with the company. My enquiry for my late ordered items was met with professionalism; and an offer of a refund that I had declined. This nursery had always been the one I go to. Because of their rare selection of plants; careful packaging and dependable delivery. Like other online companies (eg. Kmart), it was only during this pandemic that I had encountered any delivery problems with this company.
I urge and encourage you to do your own research of Whitehouse Nursery to prove any negative or positive reviews. I believe that you will find that the latter is the case with this small Victorian mail order nursery.

What a great team at White House Nursery! Terrific communication with them, and timely delivery of expertly packed banana passionfruit plants, which arrived in a perfectly healthy state.
I’ll certainly be trawling through their catalogue of plants some more, as I look forward to dealing with them again.

Beautiful healthy plants. Rare and unusual plants. Very well packaged, lots of care taken in the raising and preparing for travel to their new homes. It's so exciting to receive and unwrap the parcels from Whitehouse Nursery.

Couldn't be happier with the peonies & pomogranates I purchased from White House Nursery! They came in moist soil wrapped in newspaper. The peonies were bareroot but they had little white new roots growing.
The owner of the nursery and his staff were both very friendly and helpful to the questions I had.
Highly recommanded.

Have had very little success in two gardens with plants I have purchased. The latest casualty is a Hydrangea aspera villosa (one lived, one shrivelled). A syringa too is barely alive. That leaves three 'hopefuls' out of 5. Same poor success rate in my previous garden. I also agree with Lesley the other one *. UPDATE: Jesse has contacted me and has admitted there were stress points in the past. Jesse is going to replace my Hydrangea Villosa and Syringa which I very much appreciate.

I ordered a plant online in Nov, by Dec when it did not arrive, I enquired and was told that due to back log of orders, it would not arrive until the new year. By Feb, when it still did not arrive, I asked for a refund. Although they refunded the full amount, they did not acknowledge their oversight or offer any apologies at all which was rather disappointing. It wasn’t a nice experience for me as I had to keep chasing up on my order.

So disappointed that after waiting three years for the RED Clivia I purchased from White House Nursery to flower...they are not red at all, just a common orange. Feeling cheated.

Addition: In response to your reply, please note that I wrote this review before you actually agreed to a refund and replacement, not after. I fully intended to alter this to a positive review should you handle my complaint as you promised and I was simply waiting for the outcome. I totally agree that mistakes happen and its how you handle it that matters... So how are you going to handle it? Are you going to go through with returning the red clivia you offered simply because you didn't check the date of my review and don't believe customers are entitled to leave feedback or are you going to follow through and show all your potential customers why they should buy from you? Up to you. I will be happy to update my review with the outcome.

Well everyone, the update is that Jesse has decided that anyone who writes a negative review is no longer entitled to any assistance with their complaint. Which really is the opposite approach to good customer service. I tried to resolve it but they have chosen spite over resolution. They preferred me to leave this review rather than just help me. So here it is, now you all know.

AVOID at all costs. Unbelievably rude and mean-minded customer service and website. I have never left a bad review for a business before but I was so shocked by my treatment from White House Nursery that I want to warn other customers. I can see why they haven't put their details up in many places. They obviously don't want the bad reviews. I waded through their rude and terse language on their website, reading all of their instructions, and ended up ordering a plant in November 2020, despite being wary of the tone on their website. When it hadn't arrived a month later, I politely enquired as to when I could expect my delivery, and they were rude and actively offensive in their response. When I complained about their rudeness, they summarily cancelled my order, which I had been waiting for for a month. Unbelievably unprofessional and childish behaviour. I will never order anything from them again and can only advise that you don't either. There are plenty of rare-plant nurseries in Australia with lovely customer service and great attitude, so go to them instead!

I would not deal with this nursery again. Very rude and childish behaviour from Jesse over a simple request for information about my order. Horrible.
