Due to unforeseen circumstances we recently required urgent respite for a family member. After frantically calling around, Bupa Woodend came to our rescue without hesitation. It was a seamless admission in a very stressful time.
The staff are amazing and so welcoming. The management team go over and above to ensure everything is ok. The care is excellent and the relationship staff have with each of the residents is incredible. I would highly recommend speaking to Emily and her team if you are looking for respite or permanent care for a loved one.

Bupa at Woodend looked after my Mum through COVID with care and compassion. Although she wasn't always well and sometimes confused, she always said she was quite content. The staff were always helpful to me when I visited. There was always lots of activities for Mum and the food was always excellent. Thank you to all the staff for your care.

Very recently my father a 99 year young veteran needed to leave his home due to the fact he no longer had the energy to cook for himself and more importantly he was starting to have blackouts. He was living in QLD with the best of health and home care to keep him staying as long as possible in his own home. His Dr recommended it was time to find a home near family. I live in Victoria and Woodend Bupa is only 10 min away. My dad comes from a very warm climate and loves his food.
My Dad and our family are delighted with the outcome at Bupa Woodend. Dad has a large room and he can have the temperature set to Hawaii if need be (luckily not all the time).
Dad and I were in awe of the beautiful process the Bupa Woodend team showed to him on his 1st day.
Everyone who worked in all different capacities came into the room and introduced themselves. There were chocolates and welcome letter on the table. During the 1st 2 weeks when balloon/fitness games were in order, dad received a scratch and I was notified immediately.
There was a new Doctor required, Podiatrist and appointments to make. All were co-ordinated by the wonderful team at Bupa Woodend.
When dad sat down in his chair on his 1st day....he remarked on the room and said 'Gold'! Then after lunch ( his 1st meal) he said 101%. Having a chef produce the meals is such an important part of on going care. Enjoying what you eat encourages you to eat well and remain healthy. So this is also very exciting. When ever I pop in the staff are always so helpful.
I also received a call from the General Manager to see how things were going for my Dad. This was so incredible to see that no detail is being over looked for the care of your loved one. In short I highly recommend Bupa Woodend. I am so honoured he has another beautiful family to help care for him. So our family can take him out for short outings and he has his own space to return to with 24 hour care. So delightful.

My mother has been in a resident in this facility since January 2017 and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she gets. My mother has often expressed that she "is very well cared for and the staff are kind". Further pluses about this facility are that the meals provide to residents are nutritious, varied, allow resident selection and routinely changed on a seasonal basis. Additionally, the communication between staff and myself is open, respectful, clear and informative at all times.

Mum has lived in BUPA Woodend for three years now and I'd like to comment on some features of the home.

The good variety of regular meals has ensured she has gained weight and maintained this at a new stable level. Basically she looks really well.

There is a great creative lifestyle team who organise singalongs, bus excursions, craft sessions and special events. Mexico's national day means sombreros and for St Patricks Day the room is a sea of green! I can see from Facebook that Mum is participating in and enjoying many of these events.

Information flow was good during the main Covid outbreak and Emily is planning other means to keep all residents and relatives informed of events.

Having had a diet of bad news from the Royal Commission on aged care matters, I was pleasantly surprised with BUPA Woodend and we are both very satisfied.

My brother resided at Bupa Woodend for the last 6 years & in that time his care was delivered with compassion & respect for him as a person. The facility is well run & located in a beautiful bushland setting with well kept gardens which are a credit to the resident run Garden Club. Also the lifestyle team works extremely hard to keep the residents in tune & active. Keep up the good work

Richard has had several respite visits in the past couple of years. He is always happy to visit in order for me to get some much needed catchup time. I am very pleased with the service provided and thank the staff for their care of Richard while he is there.

Nice little care home for our oldies who want to downsize and live with 24 hour care. The place was kept nice and clean. All care staff were well trained and friendly. What I saw was a home for our parents with a wonderful mountain view at the back. If you are looking for a place to live peacefully for the rest of your life, wooden home would be a great choice to consider.

Pretty upset to find my grandfather yesterday with his hands in his food in so much pain, from being perfectly able on Friday to almost complely unresponsive. He had a fall and now has a broken leg and sepsis in a leg wound. The nurse had no idea and only called the ambulance after we requested it, even then the communication was poor. If we hadn't of arrived he would be close to death.

This nursing home has exchanged ownership 3 times now that I know of and still ther is not enough staff in high care wards. Myy mother cannot is wheelchair bouns and has advanced dementure she can communicate well and show that she is terrified evertime they put her into bed ,they have dropped her on the floor now for the second time!! that I know of, she covered in bruises on her back and head and arms and now has a suspected hip frature, The hospital says she is severly hydrated and consitipated and in great deal of pain. Would you want your parents to go through this I have no rights apparantly even though I am her daughter my father who is 85 refuses to acknowledge gross negligence and just wants to keep the peace but I will have these memories of my mother for the rest of my life.
