Missing Gorilla

Took the family to Missing Gorilla for dinner. Service was great. Staff were very friendly. Had nice chats with the attentive staff. We had an early dinner so there weren’t many people in the restaurant, however it was starting to fill up. Always recommended you book before you go. Gluten free pizza was one of the best we’ve had. Chicken Parma always a hit. Grilled Saganaki was delicious. A bit of live ambient music topped off our experience nicely.

Such a wonderful place to dine. Cocktails were perfect, food was delicious, atmosphere was lovely and staff are so attentive and friendly. Love the different areas available to sit as well, balcony is just beautiful and kids area is a real hit! Friday night solo singer was incredible recently too. I really recommend this restaurant as a local and can’t speak more highly about it. Amazing

What an amazing place to dine in. This place has only opened in the last few weeks. Imagine spacious seatings, engaging service and what makes this place special is you can try the beers and wines before buying. The ambiance of the venue changes some nights with a live band and dim lights.

I loved the Margherita pizza which was baked fresh and the crispiness of the crust. The toppings are light enough to not make the base soggy.

The sticky fried chicken is one of their signature dishes. The chicken is so tender with the crisp tangy yet sweet sauce. The consistency of the sauce is just right.

Grass fed porterhouse steak was so tender and juicy. For those who love crispy chips, I'd recommend trying it.

Sticky date was a great dessert for those who who sweetness. The warmness of the pudding made it more delicious to eat. Although the sauce was overly sweet, it did compliment the pudding well.

Booked 15 pax for husband's party...it was a busy night as it coincided with Jazz weekend. Excellent atmosphere, excellent customer service - from the booking time until we end the night, excellent food and company! When they said that they would look after you, they surely did! Will come again on other weekends to enjoy the atmosphere and music!

Wonderful location for a family brunch. The menu catered for everybody from toddlers to grandparents. A big thank you to the staff for providing a tasty gluten free french toast option on the menu. The entire breakfast menu, except for the pancakes, can be adapted to be gluten free. We booked a table near the indoor children's play area so the littlies could play before and after their meals. They loved the variety of toys and activities on offer. Parents were relaxed with them playing happily so close to our table.

The venue has a great vibe added to by a singer who played during our meal. We had a huge group booking and our meals came out quickly despite being short staffed. . Staff were efficient and friendly.

Never fails to provide the freshest of food and great selection of on tap bevvies. The staff are 5 star and very friendly.
My daughter accidentally broke a glass and the staff were right onto it, instant clean up and let her know not to stress over it, accidents happen, they were only concerned if she was injured, couldn't ask for a better bunch of humans!! We'll be back.

Lovely friendly service from the manager. Food came out quick and was tasty. Pizza base had high moisture content which was nice. Appreciated the complementary bowl of sorbet.

Nothing short of a fantastic experience.
Stumbled upon here purely by accident - was pleasantly surprised! Owner was wonderful and went out of his way to indulge us and give us a great experience. Food was definitely of a high standard as well. They even has a pool table to top it off!

Service is a list art, but this place does it well. Looking for a spot for lunch on the way to the Yarra Valley, we spotted this and thought we would give it a go. We couldn’t find the entrance initially (it’s at the rear with heaps of parking🙄), but on entrance was greeted and walked to a table of choice. Recommended food, a few well placed jokes, great experience. Food was spot on as were the drinks. Wonderful view and you feel like you are in the country but so close to Melb. Great place!’

Best of the best!!! Loved their woodfire pizza so much!! Food was absolutely delicious, the interior design is very romantic and cosy, perfect place for a romantic date, family event or business meeting. Absolutely love this place !!!

Had a lovely family brunch today and enjoyed the food, service and the kids play area. Highly recommended :-)

Felt welcome immediately.
Large indoor area and nice balcony. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Quite a small menu but still ample choice, including woodfired pizza, delicious sticky fried chicken, woodfired lamb shoulder and shared plates.
Most expensive dish is $30pp for 2, so great value.
Highly recommend you visit.

Greeted as we walked in. As we passed by the kitchen, my wife commented on a dish there was being plated...not long after being seated, a sampler of that dish was presented to us. Their attention to detail and customer service was amazing. BTW...the lamb pizza was great

Had my wifes 40th with around 30 people - the service was absolutely exemplary - platters dips and pizzas next level and bar service perfect. Could not recommend more highly - thankyou so much for making the big day so special.

Great venue with open feel vibe when you walk in (yet still intimate, not noisy), you can view delicious cakes to go with coffee upon entering. Classy venue but not toffy.
Top notch food and the coffee was made with experience and made with great attention. I ordered a Magic (double ristretto with dash of milk around 48 degrees). Only a few places actually get it right, however, Missing Gorilla made it to perfection. The food was delicious. I had the steak. The veges came with a nice portion and done in a way that very much complemented the nice piece of meat that was served on the plate, with dipping sauce that matched very well.
The staff are really cool, friendly people and happy to be there and respect its patronage. If I lived around the area, this would be my go to place for friends and family.
The venue also supports live music in a rich, heart felt way with its classic cool framed pictures of legends and various items of musical interest in and around the venue. A bit like the Hard Rock Cafe but more personalised and with a touch more class, with its barn doors and the like.
As the guitarist for Absolutely 80s, I travel around a lot and have been in hundreds of venues around Australia. The Missing Gorilla has got it right and ticks all the boxes for a cool, relaxed, inviting, feel-good venue/wine bar/restaurant/live music/dining atmosphere.
Well done to the owners who ever you are!

The staff at Missing Gorilla always go above and beyond to ensure you have the most wonderful dining experience. The staff are incredible and extremely helpful. I cannot rate this place highly enough. I have had the pleasure of attending many functions here and had the time of my life. I will certainly be recommending this place to everyone. Such an amazing venue with wonderful people

It’s so hard to find a space that is child friendly but this place nails it. Had my daughters second birthday here and it’s such a good environment for children to have fun whilst the adults relax and enjoy the great food. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be returning whether it’s for a relaxed meal with my daughter or her next birthday function!

I thought we just had a nice waiter, but then there was another really lovely waiter, and then there was another one... and one apologised that they were not as attentive as they could of have been because they were busy... but they were really attentive and all the food came out quickly and the pizza was amaze balls!!! Imagine what it would have been like if they were not busy 😂 Ok...so this is a really great place! ( oh there is even a great kids play area!!!)

We were really happy with our experience at Missing Gorilla. We booked a table for 12 for a family dinner for my son's 3rd birthday, I chose here so he could make use of the play area. Upon being seated we were offered the private function room which was fantastic, they even had a play space set up in there for our kids. The service we received on the night was really great and is what would make me return. The food was really yum too!
