Neat looking lighthouse which is not painted like many others revealing the huge sandstone blocks that make it up. Drive up from St Helens via Binalong Bay is pretty much entirely dirt road from the Bay including the access to the lighthouse area itself, so watch for the wildlife of which there is a reasonable amount of road kill evidence. There is also the nearby Clerk of Works Quarters near the boat ramp which has more info about the lighthouse inside. Drop toilet around the corner from it is functional but no running water.

Beautiful lighthouse (enlarge photo), the road to it is unpaved and extremely dusty and not good for your car... In the end it was worth the drive. You can park at the lighthouse itself (if it is not too busy)

Well worth the visit. The coolest lighthouse we personally saw on our tassie trip. Beautiful area and really appreciate being able to learn about the First Nations history associated with the area.

A great location to visit, we were lucky to even see whales migrating south whilst here. It is a picturesque drive, be mindful if coming from St Helens, 90% of the drive is dirt road

Fun ride on the bike. Some good & some not so good sections of gravel. All do able, but some areas quite corrugated. The buildings were interesting, but the views, rock formations, bays & crystal clear waters were magnificent. Wildlife is quite abundant. Plenty of wallabies around the trees near the lighthouse & outbuildings. Eagles, frigate & mutton birds plus a waddling echidna. Had a great visit with a picnic down by the waters edge in front of the lighthouse & south.

You need to walk down the path to have a surprise of awesome red stones near the ocean. The lighthouse it's just fantastic made out of sandstone and tall. Worth the visit, one of my favourite places in the east coast

Very nice . Indigenous accommodation behind the lighthouse, but anyone can stay at the paid accommodation. Apparently the only Indigenous female guide in Tasmania , teaches the ladies traditional arts. Great boat ramp.

Spectacular country with a phenomenal history. Now back and cherished by the descendants of its Traditional Owners. New memories being made. I have many with my family. A place to reflect, respect and enjoy with this generation. Grateful. Blessed 🖤💛❤

Fantastic drive and keep going to Picnic Rocks - the best location for lunch (see it on my YouTube channel). Easy parking with caravan. Thumbs up if helpful please

Definitely worth visiting I'm so glad I drove an hour off course to see. Views of coast are stunning combined with rough sea, Red Rock, light house and magical white sandy beaches. Must see this corner of the world. This day was Super windy but still appreciated the scenery ❤

A beautiful lighthouse with so much history! There's a lighthouse themed play area on the point but it was all sealed off when we went. There's a unisex toilet and a boat ramp. Be careful on the roads leading to it as they are gravel and full of pot holes.

Easy walk to the lighthouse and will hopefully spot some wildlife out and about!

Beautiful coastline, worth a visit. While there look out for Wallabies and Echidnas. Please be aware that the road in and out is mostly unsealed. There were some large pot holes, loose rocks and heavy corrugations on the road at bends, I would say that the road is unsuitable for regular cars with low profile tyres. We have a large 4x4 so we had no issues. We did have to help some tourists out and escort them back to St Helens.

One of the nicest lighthouses in Tasmania built of local stone with a number of keepers cottages nearby and on the farthest east spot you can go.
Gravel road to get there but it's not in bad condition even after recent rain .
Well worth a visit if you're in Tasmania

Well worth the trip in - but be warned the dirt roads are tricky to drive on if you have a 2WD vehicle - and yes be prepared for the car to get dirty!!! Once on location the beach is well worth exploring and so too is the lighthouse and related old buildings. There is a decent drop toilet on site and shelter during strong winds.

A must see when adventuring the East Coast of tassie. Best to visit during summer. You will drive through Mt William Nation Park on the way alot of the road is unsealed and can be rough on the back, highly recommend using a 4WD. The scenery of the rainforest leasind upto the point is soo worth it though. One of the most beautiful spots we have here in Tasmania.

Very memorable place .. good start for bay of fires .enjoyed this place . Short walks to light house and sea from the car park . Got toilets near car park . Gravel road of more than 20 km will take you this place . Rocky beach.. literally no sand. You can drive to the bottom of lighthouse or can take a short walk to light house.

Picturesque outlook. Was great to see Parks and Wildlife present showcasing the "Discovery Ranger" program for the young ones.
