Fortnums Restaurant & Wedding Venue

We visited for the first time. Absolutely loved the place. I loved the fact that it has windows all over and gives a beautiful vintage vibe to dine in. The food was good as well. I would highly recommend to have a booking on public holidays or weekends. Otherwise might have to wait for a while. If they are busy, food might take around 20 minutes to arrive. Strawberry milkshake recommended. Positive vibes, good food, great ambience, friendly staff, ample of parking on and off the restaurant. Must visit if planning trip towards Dandenong Ranges. We spend $75 for 2 people.

First time visit for three of us and we will definitely come back to sample some more of the delicious menu. Food was superb with very generous servings. Staff lovely and friendly and the space is relaxing. Highly recommended. 😋

Hubby & I loved our mini brunch at Fortnums✨ the food was delicious, with authentic homemade flavor and the scones were the BEST ONE ever eaten in Sassafras, VIC. We love the French 🇫🇷 Martini✨❤ Salute 😉

Absolutely gorgeous place. We had high tea for my girls birthdays. It was delicious and so beautifully presented. Even included gluten free for me. The hot chocolate is the best I've ever had. Beautiful friendly staff. Beautiful decor. I can't talk more highly of this place.

What a beautiful venue to have afternoon tea.. It's bright, sunny, spacious and warm. We have chicken pie, scones and coffee which are really good and we totally enjoy them. We also order chocolate ice cream sundae, too sweet, very rich and too much cream, can't taste the ice cream at all. The staff very attentive and give excellent service. Will be back.

We had Devon tea and a plate of chips , all freshly made at a reasonable price.

A comfortable place to enjoy the food. The wedges are crispy and soft. The pulled pork burger is delicious.

We had a lovely lunch here today. We all agreed that our meals were very nice, reasonably priced. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and the service was excellent. I always enjoy taking friends & family here. Fortnums never disappoints.

Lovely place in the Dandenong Ranges. Great location and food. Friendly atmosphere and staff. We got married here in January 14th 2023. A fantastic day and all of our guests had a wonderful time. The staff food and service was superb.

Fortnums - High Tea - 11am Sitting. I went for the High Tea with my wife and two close family members. The service was impeccable from the moment I booked the reservation to the completion of the high tea. We were there for 3 hrs, there was plenty of food (too much), it was fresh and tasted lovely. The venue itself was nice (we have been to this strip many times over the years) and it was a lovely day. The only issue we had was (the restaurant was full), there was an event being held with a table of about 12 people. They were extremely loud, they had kids screaming and running around etc. We were barely able to hear our own conversations at times. This was our only issue (very minor) - it was just our tough luck. Other than that, we would highly recommend the High Tea!

This is a great restaurant with good parking (but can get busy on weekends). We always phone ahead and book but you could just arrive and try your luck. The food is of good quality and varied. My wife loves the fact there is a gluten free menu with a large number of dishes to choose from. Prices are more than fair for both food and wine. Staff were polite and efficient. So in summary if you want a good meal with cute surrounds in the great village of Sassafras - try this place.

Welcoming was excellent. Atmosphere very pleasant. Fish and roast beaf I enjoyed eating. Coffee and dessert was great.

We arrived at Fortnums on a whim after attending King Henry’s down the road, which we ended up leaving due to their horrible and rude service.
We were greeted by Charlotte at Fortnums who went above and beyond to make our experience a great one. A generous smile and a heart of gold. Thank you Charlotte for providing service of such high quality.
The food was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyed by all. We will definitely be coming back.

Great place for lunches and high teas. Great venue for functions and weddings. Had a yummy lunch of calamari, wedges and Greek salad 😋👍

Sticky date pudding is the best here! I came here on Wednesday 1130hrs, my colleague and I were the only ones at first put it started filling up soon after. Place wasn't packed but at least half the place was full, surprising for mid-week but that's how popular this place is.

The service is really good, I love the seating area near the big windows. You get a good view of the street. Tables are placed at a comfortable distance so each table has their own privacy.

We shared a salmon on pancake main dish ($28) and it was very good. My picture was taken halfway through the meal so it doesn't show that it comes with 3 pancakes. We also shared the sticky date pudding and each had a coffee. Perfect way to end a meal! I could drink the butterscotch syrup, it was that good! And the pudding was so moist and just absorbs the syrup. So good!!

I'll be back to try the scones, apparently they're good.

Classic setting for afternoon tea in the Dandenong Ranges. The interior is classy and the staff are wonderful. Take time to amble through the nearby shops and bring some friends to share a hot brew.

Excellent high class venue. Kind attentive staff,great food. Beautiful surroundings. Devonshire scones were served warm with plenty of jam and whipped cream. Recommended.

This rating is especially for the lovely girl that served us yesterday. I didn't catch her name but her service was outstanding.
In regard to the place, it has a beautiful vibe with flower arrangements around you and window tables overlooking the main street. The Devonshire scones and coffees were good too. I will return soon.

Gorgeous, cottage-like restaurant surrounded by tall, leafy-green trees and a relaxed peaceful vibe which hosted my brother and sister-in-laws wedding reception. Everything was set up beautifully and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and looked so pretty on the plate. The warm, happy atmosphere really contributed towards an unforgettable and incredibly special afternoon for all of us. It really helped make my brother and sister-in-laws wedding afternoon a brilliant success and I'm forever grateful for that.
