Munro is located in a beautiful spot and provided a comfortable, although basic, spot to relax after day of hiking. As a base to access Cape Pillar was perfectly located. Must mention Ranger Annie was a great host.

Plush beds, spectacular views, welcoming Rangers, and a hot shower, what more could you want in a trail hut

A fabulous four days exploring the wonderful Three Capes Track. Grab a group of friends 👫, pack your gear, and head off for a uniquely Tasmanian experience.

We stayed at the Stewart Bay Lodge which allowed us to walk to Port Arthur where the Track begins. You can leave a bag of clean clothes there before hopping on the boat for. tour before going across to Denman Cove.

We recommend no more than 12kg so be strategic about what you pack. You don’t need to spend a fortune on expensive dehydrated food when there are plenty of options in your local supermarket (tip: if you plan to shop down there, do so at Hobart as there is literally no major supermarket between Hobart and Port Arthur).

There is a rudimentary shower out of a bucket and hoist on Day 2, but I found that a wipe down with warm water and a bowl sufficed each night.

Definitely take ear plugs with you especially if you find yourself in an 8 person cabin or if it becomes unbearable, drag your mattress out and sleep under the moonlight on the deck.

The huts are stunning and allows plenty of space to be alone or bond with your fellow walkers. Each are well appointed and there are phone chargers in each and, if with Telstra, you should get mobile range in most areas.

The last day (if you include the trek to Cape Huay) is hard work though you can leave your packs at the junction. The hard work does pay off. I would recommend taking walking poles as they really help with all the steps. The estimated times are generous if you have a reasonable level of fitness, and most days, we were an hour less than the guideline.

Most importantly, enjoy the breathtaking views, especially on Day 4 where you finish up at beautiful Fortescue Bay 👍 Pack your swimmers 🏊‍♀

PS if you get the transfer back, get changed at Fortescue Bay for the trip to Hobart as sometimes the bus goes straight there and you don’t want to end up sitting on the bus in wet swimmers for 1.5 hours

Another deluxe overnight stay with huge views out over the ocean toward Cape Hauy. My tip: if you're fit and arrive at Munro early head out to Cape Pillar in the afternoon and enjoy having it all to yourself, then head out to it again in the morning to see it in completely different light.

Hot showers. Cook ware. Superb views. Comfy mattresses. All three nights on the Three capes track have amazing huts but this was our favourite. The bathrooms are a bit further away from the cabins but there is a helipad right nearby where you can supposedly see the sunrise. We didnt have any reception at Munro (with Optus).
