Amazing to find a barista with so much coffee passion, knowledge and expertise.
Apart from a good range of eat in or take away hot food, this place is worth the visit to taste from a curated selection of several fine single origin coffees from around the world. Aaron, the barista and owner, has an extensive knowledge of coffee and can explain in great detail the qualities and flavours of the various coffees he has on offer. These are best sampled black as either espresso or long black. I sampled 2 different beans whilst there and the flavours were exceptional. If you love coffee this place is worth the trip to Kioloa just to sample this unique coffee experience. Surprising in such an out of the way place yet truly exceptional in quality and service.

Aaron is a wealth of knowledge and takes great pride in making coffee to ensure it’s perfect every time. From a basic flat white to walking you through a specialty pour over coffee experience. The Ona Panama reserve being my favourite so far. Highly recommend.

Absolute gem. Hit up the loaded B&E roll and swap the hash brown for a potato scallop for a flavour sensation. Great coffee too.

Best burger and chips I've had in a while! Such a wonderful surprise to get a delicious lunch at this little gem. I had the burger with added cheese and aioli, that and chips with chicken salt were perfection. Fish and chips perfect too. Impressed the little store was able to pump out good quality and friendly service in the height of peak season. Thanks guys!

Just a great little takeaway venue. Bacon & Egg roll done perfectly (yoke just oozing and plenty of no-grind bacon). And Aaron’s coffees are top drawer. 4 visits while the new owners have been running the show - 4 x 5 star takeaway experience. We should be down there a lot these days so we look forward to seeing you guys many times.

Hubby and I popped in to merry beach general store and takeaway had chips, fish cocktails, prawn cutlets and a chiko roll. It was superb. Highly recommend to stop and grab yourself some fantastic takeaway. Will definitely be going back before we leave.

In a nice little corner of the world, this fella Aaron (owner of this South Coast general store) knows his coffee. Dressed in black jeans, black T Shirt, with hipster beard and big grin, Aaron greets you with a ‘how are we, guys? ‘ Grab a chair or stand and have a chat, the choice is yours, while you wait for a blend of coffee ranging from Ethiopia to Yemen. Not only do you get a coffee, but Aaron will let you know how it’s going to tantalise your palette. What we learnt was to sip, savour and be patient while your espresso allows the flavours to develop as the shot cools down. Now let’s not forget Aaron’s partner Amber, with her big smile and gorgeous bub on her hip, busily attending to the other customers in the general store. This dynamic duo together as a couple deserve recognition as a hard working small business partnership worthy of local and tourist support. Came thru on the drive up to Sydney via Melbourne, and had an awesome time. Young Fella and Wife loved the food and the service given by Young Miss Gabby. Would definitely recommended the combo of Seafood Sticks and Chips with the Works Burger and some Calamari Rings. Would definitely try again if in the area.

I love visiting Amber & Aaron’s general store and take away shop! They provide friendly service, delicious food and are passionate about making the best coffee. I would recommend trying Aaron’s famous Mocha.

I have been going to Kioloa for approximately 15 years and whilst there's been some better cafes pop up in that time, the location has always lacked quality coffee and I'm super happy to report that this has changed with Aaron's new found ownership of Merry Beach General Store and Takeaway.

Aaron is an incredibly passionate and skilled barista who has partnered with ONA coffee. ONA coffee was founded by Sasa Sestic (World Champion Barista) and Sasa along with the ONA brand is now seen as one of the most influential visionaries in the coffee industry. Having been to ONA flagship stores in Canberra and Sydney, I can honesty say that Aaron has dialled in his craft and is absolutely honouring the ONA brand. Of the 3 days that I drank his coffee, I had 2 of the best filtered coffees that I've had (and the 3rd was still bloody good)!

Aaron's motivation is simple and it's very evident to see that he genuinely wants each customer to walk away with the best and most memorable coffee experience. He takes time to passionately explain the coffee origin, the brewing process and the flavour profiles you're set to experience. Each and every time I was served by Aaron, he went out of his way to address the finer details to enhance the experience, whether it be cup choice, brew method (Paragon) or bringing in some of the most boutique range of beans for me to sample/experience. He is incredibly polite, respectful and passionate, making you feel valued.

Came in to Merry Beach takeaway because rumour has gone around of a new coffee. By far the best coffee I’ve had on the south coast, will definitely be stopping in again. Great friendly service too

The new team at the merry beach takeaway are doing an amazing job! First time I have been since the new management team have taken over and the food and coffee was A grade! The service was friendly and quick, will be back regularly now to enjoy a great fish and chips or burger meal! Cooked to perfection! Cheers Mario

Without a single doubt the best bacon and egg rolls I've ever had. Very peaceful atmosphere too! Customer service was great!
