Jazushi

It’s one of the best sushi experiences I have ever had. 9 out of 10. The place is not so big but the food they serve is extraordinary.

They offer naked sushi where you get to make your own hand roll with the best crispy seaweed.
They have a lively jazz concert going own while enjoying your meal which is enjoyable and not loud.
The service is extraordinary from my experience.
Probably the best sushi spot you will come across in Sydney, and it’s worth to travel to and have a taste of it.
My boyfriend plans to add this restaurant in one of his books cause it’s by far the best we enjoyed a meal in our entire Australia travels.

We walked past the other night and hear the jazz playing.
Came back on their ramen night, really appreciate the flavour of the garlic ramen, with the strong but distinct flavour.

The seasoning for the kingfish sashimi is citrity and umami, nice ponzu sauce in it and the seasoning of salmon tartar has the aromatic spices, which is so tasty with the thick cracker.

We want to come back on a night with live jazz and try more items on their menu.

Their staff are all so friendly and nice.😊

The salmon has a soft texture and is delicious. My friend enjoyed their vegetarian option. The staff were lovely, you must try :)

Haven't been back since the completion of the light rail, but I must say all is still the same. The food was amazing, high quality ingredients. Sadly we couldn't stay for the live music, but hopefully next time. Reservation is highly recommended.

Came here before going to the theatre on Belvoir St, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish but the tempura Camembert was the stand out.

Celebrating our 27th anniversary, we wanted something special.
We ordered the $90pp chefs menu.
Venue: cozy, tables close together, intimate atmosphere. Very close to Central Station.

Service: outstanding, very attentive, and friendly. Each dish was presented with an explanation.

Food: beautifully presented, delicious, is an understatement, mouthwatering, fair portion sizes, fresh from the see.

Beverages: fast table service, tasty Japanese cocktails.

Overall experience was 10 / 10, we had an amazing time, and the food was out of this world!

So worth the visit!

Lunch at Jazushi, tonkotsu ramen for the day, with its rich tasty broth and flame grilled chashu, it reminded me of eating my favorite tonkotsu ramen at Kaio back in the old days. I only wish the noodle could be more chewy. It's a must-try for those seeking delicious and nostalgic flavors.

Loved this place. The vibe is really relaxed, with classic jazz posters and red bottle lamps. The food feels classic Japanese, yet inventive. We went for lunch and had the set menu. Everything was amazing. The fish was extremely fresh and presented beautifully. The gobo fries are addictive. The Katsu and Tempura prawns were perfect. They don't have a ton of variety on their menu, but what they do have they do well.

The set menu was a very good and filling feed. Service was very prompt and polite. Favourites were the salmon, kingfish and the mochi dessert which were very fresh and had a good kick of flavour. The live jazz music was also great at setting a chill mood in this relaxing setting.

What a hidden treasure! Words can not describe how heavenly delicious every dish is! Best of the best! Everything is worth trying on the menu. Sensational. We will come back again and again and again and again.

UNBELIEVABLE Salmon sashimi!
Vibes were amazing, would recommend going after 6:15 for live Jazz music

Jazushi is an excellent restaurant! We tried the $74 chef's menu. Everything on the menu was amazing! I'm not even kidding. The oysters with ginger granita were so refreshing, it was an excellent start to the menu. The salmon sashimi with ginger seeded mustard ponzu and grilled scallops with miso butter tantalised our tastebuds and made us excited for the rest of the menu. True enough, the rest of the menu didn't disappoint. The JFC and slow cooked Kakuni Pork Belly were juicy and so soft it melted in our mouths!
The staff provided us with such friendly service. It made the whole dinner so enjoyable! As i'm lactose intolerant, they were so ready to replace 2 dairy dishes on the menu for me! I got to try their wagyu beef and mango sorbet as a result and I absolutely loved it.
My friends and I were here celebrating birthday. To top off the night, the attentive staff surprised us with a sparkler on the dessert for the birthday girl! Jazushi definitely deserves more stars than 4.3. We will be back for sure!😊

Tried the $90 tasting menu and the food was aaaamazing!!!! Very unique flavour profile and amazing vibes. Highly recommend to get the tasting menu, if not you should definately get the wagyu beef and kingfish sashimi! Staff were so friendly and service was soo good. Went there to celebrate a birthday and they surprised us with a sparkler! 10/10 would recommend, went at 6.45pm was still very quite and empty would definitely go back perhaps at night for more of a jazzy vibe.

What a fantastic lunch at this hidden gem in Surry Hills. We had the $45 lunch special set and it was glorious. Silky smooth oysters with a vibrant ginger granita to start, followed by sashimi of both salmon and kingfish with the most flavourful accompaniments. The grilled scallops with miso butter were a standout, closely followed by the succulent JFC - Jazushi Fried Chicken. The chicken katsu was also juicy and tender, and it was all washed down with a perfect yuzu lime bitters. Will be back!

A cozy Japanese fusion resto with live jazz musics. Food was delicious, especially the grilled scallops. Soooooo delicious! Service was excellent. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. Will be back for sure!

Harry (like Prince Harry is what he told us)!!! What a legend! Absolutely spectacular service and super fun to chat and have a laugh with, definitely elevated the entire experience. He gave us a complimentary green tea ice cream for my partners birthday which tasted like the actual tea and not oversweetened- amazing. There was not one single fault in any of the dishes except that they were all so ridiculously moreish! Unique toppings and flavour combos we haven't tried anywhere else and all the ingredients were fresh. The Camembert tempura was to die for! And Harry also had great drink recommendations and seemed very well versed with the whole menu. We've left with a huge smile on our faces and can't wait to bring our family and friends here to try everything else on the menu and enjoy the live music starting again next Wednesday. Thanks staff and chefs for such a wonderful night 😊

We dined on a Friday evening. From the time we arrived we could hardly fault the very attentive service from the staff. They were very responsive and kind. We ordered plates to share amongst our group of four and found the serving sizes were perfect for sharing. The quality of the produce and presentation was superb. I am not sure the attached images do the plates justice. Each dishes flavours were impeccably seasoned and cooked. And how could we forget the eclectic jazz music to enjoy while dining. This venue is a must for locals and tourists alike! Definitely worth the price! 5 stars.
