Everything was so fresh and delicious. The staff are super friendly and always eager to make sure you have a great experience. The atmosphere is cosy and authentic. Cant wait to go back.

Great experience! I went with some colleagues and asked if they could make the set menu vegan. They were incredibly accommodating and all the dishes were tasty and filling - it didn't feel like I was missing out.

I had been to this restaurant years ago and I was impressed then and it did not disappoint tonight. Food was great and the service was very attentive.

I love japanese cuisine, and I know how hard it is to find some really good ones in Sydney. I'm happy to say that Fujiyama is a fantastic place with amazing quality food, great vibe, huge sakes selection and an amazing service. Can't wait to come back and try new things!

Nicer than standard izakaya fare, matches the vibe and interior of the restaurant which is a little bit more up market.

Service was fantastic, attentive waitress. She even grabbed a pair of new chopsticks for us without anyone asking when a person on our table dropped his accidentally.

Great selection of drinks too (huge aakw selection eg Otokoyama).

This is my favourite Japanese restaurant. Really great service and beautiful food. If you’re gluten intolerant it is fantastic. Great sake menu and the wait staff really help you if you’re unsure what to choose. I love it here.

Another fabulous night at Izakaya! We sat outside enjoying the balmy evening and enjoyed the usual friendly and attentive service. The fish is always so fresh and beautiful presentation. Excellent wine list with some good value and unusual wines. One of my favourite Sydney restaurants!

Absolutely loved my dining experience here. I am celiac and it was such a joy to be able to order almost everything on the menu. They have switched all their soy sauce to gluten free and now offer a gluten free tempura batter. Everything is delicious, the venue is cosy and inviting, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended this restaurant and will return.

A wonderful gem of a place tucked in a quieter part of Surry Hills. All the dishes we had were so yummy and flavorful. Could not fault the food. Staff super attentive.

Came here for a Friday night dinner, the sashimi and sushi were fresh with great variety, and one of the specials of the day - cuttlefish, was amazing.

Their ceviches were flavoursome, the karaage and tempura were light and crispy, the soft and tender wagyu beef cheek buns are a must and the grilled tuna belly and beef rib were the perfect hot dishes to end the meal.

Highly recommend their Snickers dessert dish - almost wanted seconds, but saner heads prevailed as we were very full.

Must also comment on the very friendly and accommodating staff, greeted with smiles all throughout the night - a wonderful establishment. Will be very happy to go back for another meal.

Lots of choices of sake, sashimi is very fresh! Even only for the tuna belly, and the beef ribs we will definitely come again, they are unforgettable yummy!

Most delicious food, wonderful flavours, and can cater for coeliacs! Went here for our anniversary with my partner who has coeliac disease. Absolutely blown away by the wonderful food and excellent service. We were sitting outside and the wait staff noticed the weather turned a bit chilly, so they brought us blankets! Highly recommend!

One of the best Japanese restaurants I have visited! All of their food was sensational - from their prawn tempura, to their sashimi, to their delicious wagyu beef cheek buns (get these!!)

Their service is amazing and I definitely recommend trying to get a table outside as inside can get quite noisy.

We celebrated Valentine' Day ❤ last night at Fujiyama and we had such a wonderful time. Love the good food, excellent dry Sake & sweet Umeshu but most of all the friendly staff especially the lady Manager who remembered the brand of Sake we ordered last time and we are so impressed! Went with a party of 6 to celebrate a birthday. Cosiest vibe, incredible food (delicious, fresh and good quality), friendliest service, and a mind-boggling selection of sakes, wines and Japanese whiskeys. All in all made for a 10/10 night! Highly recommend

Just a small restaurant but it brought me a cozy vibe with a open kitchen. Fried chicken was simple but all the flavour it gave me is so nice. Standout was Grill Teriyaki Rib, tender, juicy with the sauce all over the meat. Welcomed staff and great service.

For a creative and delicious Japanese food experience, Izakaya Fujiyama is fantastic. Everything presented creatively and so tasty. My favourite is the eggplant. We visit before a play at the Belvoir, with quick and efficient service. Only thing I would suggest is another Prosecco choice.

Love watching the chef cook & prepare the food. Really friendly staff. Food was good. Great cosy atmosphere. The best yuzu soda.
