Mount Ashby Estate

I had lunch at Mount Ashby with my husband and teenage daughter and we couldn't fault the experience. We each had a main and a dessert and we all loved every mouthful. The best dining experience we've had for a long time. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, and the open fireplace with the warm fire was divine. Highly recommend.

From the moment you drive up the long treed driveway you realise that you are in a special place. It's rustic feel and country welcome has a sense of homeliness.

The French inspired cuisine was just amazing with every meal being so delicious and well prepared. The slow cooked beef was divine, along with the soufle and pork belly. Even their boutique wines were lovely.

The surrounds are worth a walk around too with the Produce Store having antiques and other collectibles.

Overall a great experience and an adventure into yesteryear!

It's a small, homely, cozy restaurant only 2 floor staffs if you looking for fast lunch this is not an answer. Here is where you want to take time to slow. Have a chat with your company and enjoy the view .

A hidden gem in the NSW Highlands.
With the warmth and rustic charm of the French countryside you will forget for a moment where you are. Sit idle and take in the view from the terrace, watch the geese preen and wander, enjoying the sounds of nature all around you. The menu was perfect and matched with stunning wine time stands still as all your senses awaken and you are once again connected to yourself and your surroundings. We all need that. So go ahead. Allow the historic charm leads you back in time

A lovely long lunch 🥗 on our way back to Sydney with delicious meals and none of the pretension of a Hunter Valley winery. Great service and whilst we sat outside, there is a beautiful fireplace 🔥 inside that would be perfect for a Winter meal.

An authentically antique experience in this french inspired restaurant. Excellent service, the owners are lovely and the food is delicious.

We enjoyed the beef bourguignon pie with a glass of local shiraz by the imported french fireplace with the homely smell of smoke by the fire was the perfect setting on a wintery day.

Gets busy for their weekend lunch service so make sure you book ahead.

Lovely boutique winery to spend the afternoon. A great place for kids to roam the fields while the adults indulge in wonderful French food.

This place is delightful, a true taste of France in the Southern Highlands.
We enjoyed a wine tasting and were made to feel welcome even though they were still technically on lunch service.
Returned the next day for lunch in the restaurant and had a truly beautiful meal.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, food and wine was superb.

Superb French cooking and country hospitality; made a return booking to taste the upcoming winter menu.

Visited today for some lunch and a glass of wine. Excellent service, superb friendly staff and beautiful food. We went for the charcuterie platter, pumpkin and ricotta ravioli and the apple tarte. We each had a glass of wine and it was all delicious.

Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Stunning estate. Authentic people and food. We had the charcuterie board to share- OMG - Divine! The sourdough and fresh butter is mouthwatering warm and delicious. We both had the pork belly and it was superb. I had the lavender Creme brûlée, it was faultless and my husband had the apple tart- so good!!! I even had English breakfast tea in a French resturant!!! Beautiful , beautiful staff.

Such a beautiful experience dining at Mount Ashby Estate for lunch - first time visiting, but we’ll definitely be back. The food was outstanding and the staff so welcoming. The duck & beef ribs both cooked to perfection, the desserts melted in your mouth and accompanied with their lovely wine, with a few extra bottles to take home.

Lovely French food. It’s my new favourite in the Southern Highlands. And the rosé is beautiful and dry.

By the name you may think it’s a working vineyard, instead it’s a lovely French restaurant with French a chef & wait staff. Wonderful for lunch and worth checking out the reclaimed timber table store next to the restaurant.

We were cautious visiting due to the poor reviews below, but very glad we dropped by. Really friendly and welcoming service. Lovely wines and welcoming atmosphere.
