Dirt road to Limited space car park. To access the Forest 1 - Cork Oak you’ll need to walk the short dirt pathway through Forest 2 - Local eucalypts and native grasses over a small footbridge passing a pond.

You can travel the dirt loop track or explore amongst the trees and even experience nature play with fallen branches and sticks

On our visit we passed serval scenic bench seats facing in the direct of rows of cork trees.

Our autumn visit also allowed us to enjoy a Forrest floor of leaves , stick, branches and acorns. There were many play structures already setup which we explored, added too and even tried to build our own.

Our visit even had us witness one fallen oak tree, which is sad that it was uprooted naturally.

Such an underrated spot, happy for it to be less busy though. Absolutely will be coming back here for a picnic and walks as my new favourite spot in Canberra. Lovely and.shaded and private spots among the cork trees.

If you are visiting the National Tree Arboretum in Canberra, make a stop at the cork oak plantation, it is really worth spending some time walking through the forest. If you are lucky, you might see rosellas munching on the oak seeds called acorns.

Absolutely lovely place in the Arboretum. Perfect for kids to explore the forest and find fairy mushrooms. Take your picnic blanket and some food and drinks and make a lunch/afternoon of it!
