Had the phenomenal vegetarian $20 mixed plate, and it was incredibly fresh (no soggy veggies), vibrant, and truly flavoursome. Felt so satiated. Could eat this every day. Cannot recommend it more highly.

Incredible. Had the tasting plate and it was only $19 and so good. Tasty and nourishing. The people there were really nice too. Only remembered to take a photo halfway through so you’ll have to imagine the plate was a lot bigger.

Checked out this stall at the Old Depot Markets 3 weeks ago.
Food was absolutely delicious & very healthy. Serving size was very generous & the price was quite reasonable. The homemade chilli was amazing!
It’s run by a family & the youngest daughter had the loveliest smile & manners. Will be back soon to try out other dishes.

never in my life have i tasted such delicious food. i had been meaning to try Ethiopian food for a while ever since I found out there was a presence in Canberra, and this place is definitely perfect for a first time. I got the kidney beans and black lentils with rice AND injera and let me tell you, i transcended to another plane of existence. The flavors are woven together perfectly like a tapestry made by your grandmother and the mouth feel makes me feel like I'm under a heavy doona on a cold winter evening. if you don't try this place out, beware of the ultimate FOMO.

This place had a very lovely atmosphere to walk into. The workers and customers were polite and were very welcoming to my family and I, everyone seemed truly happy. The food itself was top tier, I don't know how any other cuisine could ever beat Ethiopian. The food was authentic and absolutely delicious! I could not recommend better food and service in Canberra!

Awesome flavours, authentic and delicious.

Seni's hand made dishes are the pick of the market. We have eaten with Seni's family for years and enjoyed her beautiful rich dishes prepared with tender loving care.

The service is spectacular, proportions generous and flavours wondrous. I really enjoy the soft injera bread as a complement the range of flavours from vegetarian, beef, and chicken.

Come for the flavours, try the yellow lentils, stay for the packed samosas...

Some spicy herb bread to finish the meal off.

Delicious.

One of the standout dishes that I highly recommend is the traditional injera, a spongy sourdough flatbread served with a variety of flavorful stews and dishes. The injera is perfectly fermented, lending a tangy note to every bite, while the stews are a symphony of aromatic spices and tender, well-cooked meats or vegetables. The flavors are rich, vibrant, and balanced, transporting you straight to the heart of Ethiopia.

For those who appreciate a burst of flavor, the Doro Wat is an absolute must-try. This spicy chicken stew, simmered with berbere spice and served with injera, will leave you craving more. Each bite is an explosion of savory and spicy notes, delighting your taste buds with every mouthful.

The service at Senis Ethiopian Cuisine is impeccable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about sharing their culture and culinary heritage with guests. They take the time to explain each dish and its origins, making the dining experience both informative and enjoyable.
