Dockside Cafe Kingston

This was the first time I had been here, the food here was quite nice, especially the salmon taco and the cheese scollop which I would definitely recommend. The view was nice and the atmosphere felt very calm and relaxing. The waitress serving us was very friendly. I definitely recommend this place for dinner!

We were seated quickly. You order at the counter or there is a qr code at the table.

We sat outside on some comfy lounge chairs, with a lovely view of the water, overhead heaters and lovely plants 🪴 the plants are in really good condition and add a lovely atmosphere.

After trying a few cafes in the area, I found that this was was the best and worth the visit. The food is incredible, tasty, fresh and priced well. Their coffee is also done very well!

The atmosphere and feel of the cafe makes you feel like you are at a sophisticated dockside cafe, plus the team is super friendly and accommodating!

Great environment and atmosphere, coffee was good, egg Benedict was good, just the service needs some work on it.

My wife and I enjoyed a unique red velvet latte and Taro Latte in addition to the ginormous helpings and refined flavours of the Southern Fried chicken burger and truffle Cheese toastie.

We were blown away with the level of cafes in the capital, coming from Brisbane and this one topped all of them.

Will definitely revisit on our next trip to Canberra.

I’ve been coming here for years for their lovely coffee and great brunch offerings. I highly recommend trying their new dinner menu. The Japanese Australian fusion works well. We had a selection of wines and share plates - the chicken karaage was delicious. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere and the outdoor dining options will be great on a summers night.

We ate here twice on our recent 5 day visit to Canberra. The food was delicious the first time and on the second visit - I had the same breakfast- it was just as good. Now this was on New Years Day and the place was socially distanced heaving. The food was the same quality as the last time, it just took a little longer to arrive. This was expected as there was a sign telling customers that there was a 30 minute wait time for food. This sign was regularly updated as the times became shorter etc. The staff were professional and calm. Each table has hand sanitizer on it and tables were wiped down properly. Even the water bottles were wiped after being filled. I would highly recommend this place

For a place that’s only just started doing dinner, the Dockside has some of the tastiest Japanese fusion in Canberra. We had the 79$ tasting set menu and were thrilled with everything, especially the oysters and very marbly wagyu. The staff were friendly are attentive, and the view of the lake is lovely. We left feeling satisfied, but wish we had a few more portions of some of the dishes considering how good the food is.

2 of us had dinner here New Years Eve. We shared Vegetable Bao Bun, Calamari, Cheesy Baked Scallops from the shared plates section & one main - Honetsukidori (chicken). Absolutely delicious with the Scallops being the standout. We were full but not bloated. Probably could have dropped the chicken and had a salad side instead to complement the other dishes. Staff were brilliant - friendly, attentive.

Then we returned for brunch on New Years Day. 3 of us this time. We had the ricotta pancakes (standout this time), ham & cheese toastie + raisin bread with coffee, hot choc and tea. Again, everything was delicious and plentiful. Staff (most backing up from NYE) were still fresh and brilliant. Awesome teamwork on display.

Very impressed with service. Slight mix up re a vegetarian order that was promptly fixed. Cheeseburger was excellent, and Healthy Bowl was lovely. Really surprisingly good Vanilla Slice, coffee good and a Banana Dmoothie was really yummy.

Beautiful place with great food! And they have one of the best coffees in Canberra.

I had a delicious dockside breakfast with a coffee Frappè. It was absolutely awesome! Service was also great as well with friendly staff. I would highly recommend Dockside Kingston cafe.

Went there twice with friends , I can say after moved from Sydney to Canberra this is the best hot chocolate ever, I couldn’t find good chocolates since I moved here

Amazing!! Absolutely amazing! I ordered two custom requests on two of my dishes and they were perfect and also two different staff members came by to check that it was what I had requested and everything was ok. It was delicious food and amazing service.

Ps I had actually arrived at this cafe as mt second destination after I had to leave the first cafe when the chef wouldn’t take the blueberries out of my 3 y.o’s pancake order.

Dockside Cafe has been a favourite of mine. I adore their eggs benedict, which make the ideal breakfast! Along with the delicious meal, the adorable, understated decor creates a wonderful ambience when combined with the breathtaking view. I love it!

Of the many cafes at Kingston Foreshore, Dockside is my favourite. The staff here are friendly and always happy to see us when we come. The Ona coffee is exactly to my liking and consistent every time. The Ona hot chocolate is my favourite in Canberra as it is not sweet. I don’t want to tell you about my favourite seats as then you will want to while away time in them at my expense.

Visited today - great coffee nice menus selection catering for all tastes - vegetarian, gluten free etc. we had fish and chips and the pulled pork portobello mushrooms 😋
