Dairy Farmers Hill Lookout we attended a couple of weeks ago, and this review and being up there bought back some wonderful memories!
Over 25 yrs ago, it was just a dirt road which we would come through the pine forest to access this area to sit up here and admire the views!
Now, if anyone asked me back , then I would be doing a review on this lookout to help others. I would have laughed, but here we are!
This lookout now has a tar road with carparking spaces and foot paths. The big pine trees are over 25 + yrs that I know, which gives great shade back then and now...
The government has done amazing work to this area, with picnic areas to the great Eagles nest display and the friends garden, which is getting better every year as the plants grow!
The view overlooking the CBD of Canberra and Lake Burley Griffith is beautiful on the right day, of course, and where the carparking area is you also have great views overlooking the Western creek area...
During the summer months, be a little careful as there are good size snakes, but they usually keep to themselves. Also, there is a mountain bike track for the more adventurous type of person...
You will not be disappointed with the views, and with saying this, just remember there is no toilet block up here.

Easy to access. Great overall views of Canberra in the lake. Take picnic lunch up there, sit at a tables or spread out a picnic rug on the side of the hill!

My favourite spot in Canberra. Best views over the city and beyond. The Arboretum is an amazing place to get a breather, soak up some nature, learn about trees and generally have a good time no matter how old or young you are.

Vigorous for exercise training very good for a beginner someone who is starting out not too hard to get to the top of the hill and you can rest on a bench halfway up the mountain to view the lookout and catch your breath.

It's a great spot to stop on a walk or drive around the Arboretum to enjoy the views over Canberra and the Brindabella Ranges.

Amazing, love the spot particularly in the morning with less people. Very well maintained. There are many walks (level 1 and 2) that could be done from there, highly recommended and will come back

You can see the whole Canberra from the top of the hill..
It has a beautiful view and in a few years all the trees are going to grow amazing.
Also the best part is they have given labeling to all the trees. Which is really good.

Top view from Dairy Farmers Hill at the Canberra Arboretum is simply amazing. I have driven past many times and never even considered stopping, but wow, it is beautiful with superb 360 degree views of Canberra and our into the country side. Peaceful and beautiful lookout, and definitely worth stopping and having a moment here.
But a highlight was a seedling propagated ultimately from the original Lone Pine tree from Gallipoli in Turkey. Wow.

One of the best views over Canberra. A gorgeous spot to watch the balloon spectacular (but it does get very busy!) and the sunrise. I always bring visitors here for a photo opportunity and a nice stroll through the trees!

Nice cill place to spend time over. The way to go to the top is very interesting. Best place for sunset. You will huge people visiting for sunset. Stress free place to visit. If not, then you can drive around. The road seem like chill driving tracks. You will love it. I will definitely visit this place if I am going Canberra and would recommend not to miss the sunset from here if anyone is around Canberra for spending holidays.

A fantastic lookout and beautiful garden area at the top of the hill. The views are superb, with the 'Eagles Nest' statue overlooking the grassland hills. There's a few other pieces or artwork at the top of the lookout, with the carpark being relatively close. At one side of the lookout there's the Forest of Remembrance views too, and it's such a lovely and tranquil place to visit when exploring the nearby Arboretum.

Fantastic vista of Canberra. You can get 360 degrees view of Canberra.
Inclusive design that is totally accessible for people in wheelchairs. An extra disabled car park would be the only additional remark that I would make.

Lovely place with amazing view of parts of Canberra. There is also a cafe with awesome view and arboretum with bonsai trees of up to hundreds years old. All free. Pack your food and drinks and you can have a nice picnic while enjoying the greens.
