Wow a free service for passengers was fantastic :-) fast and easy to get over to Raymond Island

Ferry returned to normal service Friday October 20 2023!!
Raymond island vehicle ferry is out of service for biannual maintenance from 9am October 2 to October 22. Pedestrian and bicycle service only until October 22 when normal service resumes. NO VEHICLE ACCESS TO RAYMOND ISLAND UNTIL OCTOBER 22!!!

Very attentive and reliable ferry service. The ferry runs about every 20 minutes and was affordable to travel across with a car ($13), or free for foot passengers and cyclists. Staff were friendly and payment via contactless was the only option at the time of visiting. Prompt crossing, but can get busy during peak times.

The ferry is free if you walk or cycle, leaves every half hour or so, and takes you across the very short stretch of water to sleep Raymond Island.
There's no cafes here, and not much to do, except walk around and see the Koalas, which can be found everywhere along the signposted koala trail.

Nice quick ferry ride from Paynesville to Raymond Island and back. Free for pedestrians and was able to bring the dog with me. Ran pretty much on time, every 20min or so

Well maintained, neat & tidy vessel doing frequent trips between Raymond Island & Paynesville. Walk on passengers aren't charged but vehicles are charged according to their size. Seating for walk on passengers is provided on comfortable wooden benches with a good view from side windows. The crossing is very quick maybe 10 minutes from boarding until disembark.

Free for pedestrians, and very reasonable fees for vehicles. The ferry runs every 20 minutes, so you never have to wait long. If you're in the area, the island is 100% worth a visit. You're almost guaranteed to spot some koalas!

I love this ferry. It pootles backwards and forwards on its tiny journey all day. It's so relaxing. It makes me happy.

A free service for foot passengers to visit Raymond Island which is a great place for a walk and to see their koalas.

Raymond Island ferry travels over McMillan Straight in the Gipsland Lakes system, from Raymond Island to Paynesville and back running every 20 minutes. The Island is a magical wildlife wonder place with Koalas, Kangaroos and the occasional Echidna is also seen. The ferry drivers are a great happy friendly crew ready to answer any question about the island that you can ask with a joke and smile.

Free for pedestrians to cross to the island and walk the koala trail or drool over boats!

Like trying to find Wally……but with Raymond. Where was he? Does he only come out at night? Who is Raymond?….. So many questions.
As a nice distraction though i did see lots of koalas which was pretty cool but zero Raymond’s
